I'm taking a bit of a break, to re-charge my batteries and avoid (or at least slow down) burn out—but there's always time for some completely random improvements!

I wanted to have some of these for a long time, to help visually break up the environment a little bit and add more variety: So I present: Low-effort dirt roads!

I gave the loading screen some love, for the first time in a million years! Just some cute details, to give it a more polished look; it really helps make it feel like a 'proper' game.

Progress bar and loading spinner, all in one: Watch this building get.... some sort of "reverse-destroyed", what a strange sight
The little building is actually a bunch of 3D models, that get swapped according to the loading progress. Originally I thought I'd render out a bunch of animation frames, but this way I can have the rotation be independent of the destruction level.

Only a small update, I'm afraid. Since I have started with the loading screen, I feel like the next "big" topic should probably be UI design, since the menus are still very obviously placeholders. But we'll see—for now I'll still take it a bit slow, for a while, and possibly work on a bunch of random things, haha!
