Steam Achievements, Brainstorming
Added 2023-04-15 15:21:02 +0000 UTCSoon I will be starting to implement achievements into the game!
My current ideas for specific achievements are as follows:
- Crush Champion: Reach a height of 400 ft in a game of Crush Hour
- Total Destruction: Destroy the entire city (maybe with time-limit)
- 3-Star Gourmet: Eat a vehicle marked as 3-star VIP
- Sniper: Take out a VIP target from a distance of 200m or more
- Field Goal: Kick a car over a distance of 500m or more
- Carnage: Destroy every vehicle in the city
- ...
So that's 6 achievements, already. If I end up with 10~12 achievements, total, I'll be happy!
Do you have ideas for fun achievements?
Then please let me know!
There's only two kinds of achievements I kind of want to avoid:
- Freebies: Achievements that reward you for simply playing the game, i.e. "Destroy your first building"
- Busy Work: Things that are easy to do, but just take a lot of time, i.e. "Destroy 1.000 buildings."
If I end up with too few achievements I can still add some of those, as filler, but my favorite kind of achievements add fun challenges to keep things interesting, or reward creative styles of play!
But yes, if you have any ideas for achievements you want to see in the game, please let me know!
Offline Achievements for Non-Steam Version
Also, I'm thinking about making the achievements work without Steam, too, so that players of the itch.io version of the game can go achievement hunting, for an extra bit of challenge—with the limitation, of course, that their achievements will not be saved/displayed online, but only be a local, offline record.
Thanks for your Support!

Oh, that's elaborate/creative! It would just require a lot of elements that are currently not in the game—but I could imagine a (very) simplified thing, where I turn some of the cars into pizza delivery cars, or such, and make an achievement out of eating those
2023-04-16 16:04:36 +0000 UTCWell I know this is probably busy work, but could be fun and is easy to expand upon later but: "Line Chef: Assemble a meal fit for a macro... in your stomach." Have several labeled trucks around the map like a hotdog or donut van. Maybe even have like restaurants with big foods on top or signs. You need to eat ingredients to get the achievement. It could be something you need to do in a specific order, like "Jimbo's Jumbo Eggs" and "Mother Milk Dairy," and "Flowering Flour" and "Big Bubba's House of Sugary treats." To finish it, you gotta eat "Hank's Heating and Heating Accessories" to get something like "That's one way to make a cake"
