This episode infuriates me so much. How dare they treat Buffy like that after all she did for them? She always has been there when they needed her and they can't put her feelings first now she really needs it. I mean I'm not surprised about Xander because he always has been this way. He is brave and, when he deals with supernatural elements, he puts himself at risk to help his friends. But when it comes to emotional stuff, he can't deal and often become aggressive and take wrong decisions. Let's hope he will be able to overcome his own issues in the future. Willow's attitude is not better. She clearly avoids Buffy and, in the same time, blames her for not talking to her. She doesn't know everything but at least, she does know Buffy had to kill Angelus. If it wasn't the case, they simply wouldn't be here anymore. And she has the nerve to put what is happening to her to the same level of what happened to Buffy. As for Joyce, as much as I understand how hard it has to be not knowing where your child is (or even if they still alive), she has to consider her own behavior. As Buffy rightfully told her last season, she regularly had blood on her clothes. Joyce knows that Buffy burned the gym in her previous high school and was implicated in violent events. Maybe she should have been more preoccupied with what happened to her daughter and talked to her or bring her to see a psychologist or something. In any case, she doesn't have the right to blame Buffy for going away after having told her not to come back. At least, we have Giles. He's the only one who puts Buffy wellbeing before his own feelings. Giles is the father we all wanted to have when we were teenagers (and now that I am older, I also think he would be a great husband^^). Great reaction as usual Tyler. I am very glad that you continue to like the show and I am impatient to see what you will make of season 3 (which I found to be even better than the first 2 seasons).

After that pause and in the rest of the video I talk about how I understand their perspective too :) I do think they were still unfair to her, but I can appreciate what they're going through too. *hint hint* I did a whole commentary series on Hill House if you had some spare time I dunno πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

Just paused on the hootenany conversation (I love Oz), and I agree with your point that Xander is not thinking about buffy's feelings, but also remember a) he's a teenager with teenage emotional range, and b) they are all experiencing valid feelings from their friend/daughter disappearing without a word for months, possibly thinking she's dead and experiencing feelings of grief. I've been rewatching haunting of hill house recently which deals very eloquently with the 5 stages of grief, one of which is "anger" which is clearly where Xander has settled in and taken root.
