January Table Pack: Studio B
Added 2019-01-03 14:03:58 +0000 UTCStudio B is a party game I made that’s essentially a reskin of Channel A for American B-movies. I went as far as to self-publish it on DriveThruCards, and when I was waiting to see if the Channel A Kickstarter would fund I channeled that anxiety into working on a series of Studio B expansions, which would up being a series of three stand-alone expansions for different eras. (Which means I’ve given myself a pretty ludicrous amount of work to do assembling little logos for Title Cards, which may explain why I haven’t done that just yet.)
In addition to combing through Wikipedia lists and such, I finally got around to obtaining copies of the Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film and the Psychotronic Video Guide, two books from the people behind the Psychotronic magazine that contain hundreds of short reviews of weird movies of every description. Those books are a treasure trove, and it turns out that they’re now available as free PDFs (Encyclopedia and Video guide on archive.org), so I do recommend checking them out if you’re into that kind of thing.
So, this month’s table pack is a set of generators for B-movies, ranging from the stylings of old black and white flicks shown at drive-ins to those weird direct-to-DVD action movies that Steven Seagal keeps showing up in today.
