dHere in Long Island NY we have Eastern Box Turtles. This week we have been lucky enough to have had one hanging around our house. Unfortunately the Eastern Box is a species of special concern in NY. They range over a wide area and cross many roads. This is leading to their demise. We have noticed that they use our Rosa rugosa as cover and as a food source. This is another case of an invasive plant having benefits for our wildlife. Cheers, Chris
