Update on the, um, Update.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check in and let folks know how progress on the March release was looking. This has probably been my most efficient use of time, yet. I have over 27.5k words written for the next update and I'm still going.

I won't be able to finish Week 6 with the next update, I'm afraid. The number of paths has grown from 2 to 4 (store and restaurant to store, restaurant, M2Fed and not M2Fed). While there's definitely still a lot of overlap, there is also specific content for both jobs and both states of body. Half the battle right now is keeping track of who feels what based on previous choices, etc.

I'm trying to refrain from going back to, "Work goes slowly. You go home. You watch a movie and then go to sleep." There might still be some of those in the future, as I've now spent 75k words to write three in-game days (the entirety of the last week was 60k, and the whole week before that was 30k!), and that might not be sustainable if I want to finish The eWardrobe any time soon.

If anyone has any specific questions that aren't plot-spoilers, please ask away! I'd be happy to communicate about what Kazeto is doing under the hood with the code, what the plans are for beta content (3rd job, anyone?), what Fredricton and I have discussed for the tentative future of the renders, etc.

Thank you all for your continued interest and support in this little game of mine (ours?). It's been a blast, and I'm excited for the release of the next update. I think it will *satisfy* not just the readers, but Danny too ;)

The third job needs to fulfill a role and archetype that the other two haven't. For example, working at the store doesn't make you a gang-whore, but it exposes you to rough people and you can end up as a gang-whore if your choices take you that way. On the other hand, working at a restaurant doesn't immediately make you a refined and classy lady, but you could go down that way. So my plans for job three are for a third feminine archetype or role, and a setting that exposes you to the people who will do that. I'm reluctant to outright declare it now, because the idea has changed over several months and will likely continue to change, and I've learned that if you announce plans too early it can provide time for a flurry of feedback about what should be done instead. I'm still going through the timeline and making sure it can all work with the content that's already there. What I'll likely do is announce it once beta is closer, or I'll provide a poll of ideas I've examined and determined that can work with what's already there, and then I'll let folks vote on it. But that's still a ways off.

Beta feels further off every month, despite the progress that's been made. I'm glad you were comfortable with the way the last big cliffhanger was handled, I know some people were skeptical that it could be addressed in a way that wouldn't be upsetting.

Thanks for being understanding! I would love to still do a week per month, but that's looking less and less likely. A lot of the previous content was building toward the future; think about how many interactions with a romantic character were "you spend time together, then things get awkward and it ends. Maybe next week you two will go on a date." The dates are finally happening, but each date is only going to be seen by a minority of players. And then there's Danny's mental state for the date depending on the TF.... it's slowing things down. But I'll do the best I can to keep enough content coming out so maybe folks won't mind.

Bit bummed that the branching paths will slow things down (very understandably of course), but i feel like the variety, flexibility and replayability that results will absolutely be worth it.

We've talked through a few options: -Renders from Danny's POV where you can see parts of his body but not all. -Renders of Danny in very specific outfits, like as a Disnar princess, since those moments have little physical variance. -Renders in the eWardrobe of Sasha wearing the outfit, so the computer displays how it should look on her.

Are there plans for a render of Dan/n/i/ny that visually tracks progress? Or is there a timeline on specific images?

1) It's gated by your $femininity. If your $fem is too low Danny won't even consider getting in. Other than making different choices, the easiest way to raise your $fem is by wearing the less conservative work outfit, or taking more pills. 2) The food truck was supposed to be a recurring plotline. I envisioned having the character pop up every week with a different themed food truck, but always a food that was a tad obscure (or at least not conducive to quick service), and you could choose to engage with her or not and eventually help her out with the theme and food itself. For the others, those aren't throwaways so much as they're Danny experiencing small encounters as a girl and seeing how different it is. Even something as basic as selling cigarettes can feel very different when the customer ogles you and treats you like an object of sexual gratification. How Danny responds to those events adds to his $fem, so even for the small scenes that never get referenced again there's an added effect to Danny's overall psyche, and that affects the big moments in the game when your $fem determines how you can respond to things. 3) Thank you so much, that's very kind of you to say. I'm glad you enjoy it, and I'm glad I've done an adequate job of bringing these characters to life. I'd say my favorite character to write changes pretty regularly. Sometimes it's fun to write Justine, because she often writes herself, but other times she exhausts me. I actually really like writing Jake, despite how much most people dislike him. Chris is another one I like writing. I guess it depends on the update itself. Lately I've had a kick out of writing Janet even with how evil she is. I'm looking forward to writing some planned Destiny content; I guess it's more that there are scenes and encounters I like to write. Now that the characters' personalities are established I can focus more on the interactions and not as much on the "getting to know them" part.

When Fredricton and I last spoke there were some cool plans for future renders, but I see your point :P

That was just me putting the past tense on it, sorry! "Male-to-femaled and not male-to-femaled." M2F alone probably would have sufficed.

A few questions I've had after playing through the game multiple times when you have a chance! 1) For the scene where Danni can take the long way home versus the short way, and encounters the pick-up truck driver who offers him a ride. What specifically are the necessary game triggers to accept the ride? I can never seem to reliably figure out what allows you to accept or not. 2) For self-contained scenes like the pick-up truck driver (selling cigarettes to the one customer, buying food from the food truck, etc.), do you have plans on these events ever coming up again later in the game, or are they more so just throw aways to help determine what Danni is like? 3) One thing I really like about your game is the wide cast of characters, all who seem to have lives that don’t revolve solely around Danni. They seem so much more fleshed out than in other games. Do you have a favorite character you like to write about?

Still hoping for renders of Justine when she models either the red or the green. :)

I know what M2F means, but what exactly is "M2Fed" - maybe female-like or being on the path to female?

The two paths are working at the restaurant and working at the store. But yes, you're correct that Justine allows for the gang and no gang branches.

Ok. I found those. The Justine has the gang and no gang route branches.

This actually comes up a bit. Here's a quick explanation for how to get it: <a href="https://www.tfgamessite.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=6&amp;t=9787&amp;p=444373" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.tfgamessite.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=6&amp;t=9787&amp;p=444373</a>#p444332 Enjoy! If you liked the game before this you might have a lot more fun now, as there's a lot of content on whichever path you didn't try out. Edit: that didn't like the way I wanted it to. Here's what it said: "I'm not sure if everyone realizes, but there's a whole other job/friends/subplot available too, that changes the whole game, almost as if it's two games in one. I definitely didn't realize this until I'd already played the game once and deleted it, lol. It's definitely worth trying both, IMO. As for how to get the other plot... Spoiler: It depends on whether you use the eWardrobe before you start cleaning the cottage or not. The store route with Justine seems the more "corrupt" one, whereas the restaurant route with Destiny is more the "good gurl" route. I vastly prefer the latter, personally."

I am confused on how to get to the two different jobs. I thought there was on one.

OhioOkie

Yes. When the game goes to beta I'll be adding in a third job, along with everything that entails. It won't be immediate, as I also need to revise some of the alpha content, but you'll get a third look at the town of Hope's Point and some of its more interesting residents. Some established characters will still cameo in that path, of course.

I'll bite, is there a third job planned?
