Post 0.4.8 update

Thank you. I sometimes wish I could hit pause and write the Astoria books. High fantasy is what I always dreamt of writing as a child. I never wanted to be the type of creator who shunned criticism and shut down ways for people to express how they felt about my work. But I don't know if I can continue this otherwise. I'm going to try to bounce back and do less socializing on TFGS and more interacting here; you and others are right that the Patrons obviously like it, and I think it would be better for my mental health to expose myself to more positivity. Thank you for your support and kind words.

As someone who suffers from chronic clinical depression themselves i know how important positive reinforcement is to keep going or start the process of getting going again when things get bad. I can only reiterate that you're one of only 3 creators i support on Patreon, and that is because your characters and the world they inhabit mean a lot to me and frequently have helped me to get away from the plight of what it means to be myself, in my body, in this world and instead wonder what the rest of the world of the Astoria Novels is like, or if Danni will find the kind of happiness in the end that i simply can't imagine ever being part of my own future.

Don't let the complainers get you down, you have a great game going here!!! You have so much content and different paths to go down just about everyone should be able to find things they like, that is if they like TG content. And if they don't then why are they playing it?? It's awesome that you listen to our post and comments but don't feel that you have to fulfill all of them:) I've found that I enjoy this game so much that I finally said "Fuck it, I'm supporting this!" If you start doubting your work just look at the 600+ people who have said they love it enough to support it! That should erase any doubts you have!

Probably 04/20 if I can swing it, 04/27 if not. I'm deep into it, but Sunday is so big it's taking me longer than I'd like to finish it. Thank you for saying that. I hope you find all future updates "great" as well.

If you can picture two sides of a coin, one side contains the fact that 600+ like the story enough to financially support it. The other side contains the overwhelming pressure that comes with feeling like you may let 600+ people down with every update. Folks on TFGS and IDGB are very vocal about what they dislike, and that makes it tough to be confident about the story being told. I'm glad you and others are enjoying it. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't incredibly anxious that the enjoyment could change to displeasure at any time.

I don't know if it's something you already planned on doing for the shopping trip (and I don't expect you to spoil it for me one way or another), but it would be sweet and kind of exciting to see Danni realize that these will be his clothes, not his cousin's, not something borrowed or lent, but his actual clothes that he'll be buying for himself. Would love to see his emotional response to that. You seem to be pretty far into 0.5.0, should we be expecting an update fairly early next month, or a humongous update a bit later? I can completely understand if you'd rather not answer that, so as not to set expectations. I know how much something as simple as a few kind words can mean, so yes, just as I've said before in previous comments, I appreciate all the effort you put into this, it's been great so far and I have no doubt it will continue to be so.

Having struggled with depression not so long ago I know what kind words can do to a person. I think I said it before but I really enjoy Danny's adventure in Hope's Point and to think he is only halfway. You are doing an awesome job at writing the story. Having never written a single story in my life I can only imagine how taxing writing one can be, but I also know it is good to keep oneself busy and distracted with something you care about while struggling with depressions. Just remember that everyone who supports you on Patreon believes in you, enough to support you both financially and spiritually. I know I do... So keep up the good work. And keep the goodness coming. We believe in you!!!
