Picture Preview: Overload Ocean
Added 2021-08-11 04:49:38 +0000 UTCI got a new idea for my Paintreon to both keep uploads more regular and to sort of punctuate my work days a bit better (since I tend to go a little too late in the day). From now on, I'm going to try to post something I did for every day of work! Usually I would only bother to post on here if I felt something was good enough to show, but I think it's better to constantly reassure folks that I'm still working on things!
Today I did mostly background work. I'm going with the style I opted for in the kirby short titled HAIR with the more limited color palettes. I tried that with the backgrounds too but I might want to push it a little further. The door might end up looking slightly different, but I'm not too sure yet. It's important to not scrutinize your work TOO much because that's how you start nitpicking without finishing anything.
Excited to be getting some great progress done on these backgrounds!! The boards on that pier were really hard to get right. I wanted to match how they looked in Planet Robobot's water stages. They were really wonky and irregular. Trying to imitate that without going TOO far while also doing a sort of tricky perspective was really tricky, I probably spent the most time on making that look good.
