We usually apply two new layers - one in overlay, the main one, and one in multiply, for increasing the saturation here and there. Be sure to adjust your base colors to show through the grey-scale. It helps a lot!

2019-10-30 20:00:02 +0000 UTCOut of curiosity, when you add color, do you have it one a new layer with a specific layer setting? I tend to have an issue with my colors being unsaturated if I start with greyscale.
