Health Updates: A true ✨POP✨ star

Good news: I saw my physiotherapist about my hand and he has been able to help! Also news: I might have made him look/feel a little silly 😅

So as you may remember, I felt something roll in my hand while I was cutting my eggs benedict a couple weeks ago... 😅 I finally got it checked out! And the first thing I said when I got to my physiotherapist's office was: "I am here for possibly the dumbest reason, and I am also not confident that it's something you can help with...but I didn't know where else to go"...because I like to set expectations appropriately 😂

First of all, I am so smart, because that was exactly the correct person to see about my hand. I'll hold for applause. 😎

...

Anyway, turns out a couple of the tendons in my hand did in fact roll out of place a bit, but the biggest issue with that is that it caused a minor injury to the muscle, which caused everything else around it to get all mucked up. So I've got tension running from up around my elbow all the way down through half of my fingers 🫠 And I have the absolute crunchiest wrist.

Here's where I potentially made him look/feel silly...

When he was flexing and extending my injured wrist and it was crunchier than fresh cornflakes, it quickly popped quite aggressively. Fine. Normal. Expected. Hurt like all heck, but a-okay. But then he said "yeah, see that's not going to happen in the other wrist, no matter how hard we try". Which honestly, he had every right to believe because my left wrist: not crunchy. Not injured. Not connected to the most frequently pinched nerve.

But my man forgot that I had just told him about my hypermobility. So boy did he look silly telling me he couldn't possibly pop my left wrist by just moving it normally...before very quickly also popping that wrist 😂 My friend. You cannot, with any confidence, tell a hypermobile person that their joint won't click 😅🙈

Anyway...so far I have done my physio exercises approximately every other day, and my hand feels a lot better! My wrist and arm are often sore and get tired really quickly, so I'm of the mindset that the whole arm might need a bit of rest and maybe a massage...but my hand feels better! So at the very least, we've fixed things enough that the injured muscle and tendons have recovered! 🙌

In general, I have to say this break was really perfectly timed because I am back at a point of being more drained than usual, so hopefully I'm able to get some good rest! Granted, it is possible that the exhaustion is the spoony fatigue...my body is still struggling a lot with the change in the weather, but hopefully as things become more stable, so will all of my symptoms 🤞

Comments
