Food Vibes: A Delicate Constituion
Added 2025-12-16 21:50:06 +0000 UTCI'll be honest, I did not have a plan for this post when I put it in the schedule, but thank you so much to my body for deciding to contract COVID specifically so I would have something to talk about today...
Ps. I have added to this Taylor Swift rewrite and I think I'm funny, so...something to look forward to in a future stream maybe 😅
In case you hadn't heard, I am quite terribly sick at the moment. It started Friday evening with a sore and swollen throat, and by Sunday I couldn't even stomach good ol' reliable: chicken noodle soup 🥺👉👈 As you might imagine, it has been a bit of a struggle to continue to eat while also balancing the consequences of eating 😅😬
I need to know: what do you usually eat when you're sick? How do you manage nausea and the bodily requirement for sustenance? 😂
From Sunday evening to Monday afternoon, all I consumed was tea, water, plain potato chips, and saltines. But um...in addition to being sick, I am also unfortunately chronically ill. And part of my pre-existing health issues include: IBS and hypoglycemia. A deadly combination when sick in a way that makes it difficult and nauseating to eat proper food 😅🙈
So. For me, my very limited diet was very much not enough to sustain me, and led to more dizziness and severe abdominal pain. I tried to eat some peanut butter toast, but alas, I was no match for that beast! But I did end up discovering that I could handle the broth and mushy carrots of my last can of chicken noodle soup! (While I awaited my grocery order because I am too sick to be leaving the apartment).
Post grocery delivery, I have widened my diet to: water, tea, Gatorade, saltines, plain potato chips, chicken broth with mushy carrots, and some very thin slices of deli chicken. It's definitely still a struggle to manage the blood sugar along with everything else, but it is slowly getting easier with each new food I find I can manage 😅👍
This is by far the most difficult time I've ever had in continuing to eat food and manage my usual health stuff while sick, so...any advice or suggestions are welcome at this time, thank you 😂

And yeah saltines and electrolytes (and emergen-c)!! Oh and flat ginger ale works well! Oh and bananas are part of that bland diet too! Oh and my mom used to make a goji berry chicken soup that was soooooo warm and cozy when sick. 🥰 I like making that when i can get the ingredients. ^^ Get well soon KT ❤️🩹

2025-12-17 17:50:50 +0000 UTCIf I’m super nauseous (usually from being in the back of a car for too long) the ginger slices that come with sushi! You can buy just the jar of “sushi ginger” and either the pink or beige-ish colored ones. They’re soft and wet so easy to swallow and ginger is ginger! And if they come back up, they don’t hurt as much as bread.
