I had a (not so) minor accident today that injured my dominant hand.

Hello my dear supporters!

I’m very sorry to inform you that the comic pages I was planning to post this week will have to be postponed to next week.

Earlier today, I had an accident that caused a deep cut on my right arm. After helping my mom renovate her bedroom, I was taking a heavy bag of debris to the neighborhood’s disposal area. Unfortunately, the bag wasn’t a proper debris bag—it was just an empty dog food bag—and some sharp tile pieces were sticking out. When I lifted it up to dump it into the container, I basically hugged the bag to pull it up, and one of those tiles cut a deep wound into my arm.

The message of the paragraph after this one is a bit graphic (skip the italic part), so if you’re sensitive to that kind of content, I recommend stopping here. Everything after this point is just to describe the accident itself, all you need to know is that I'm taking 10 days off to recover it without provoking further damage to my hand movements, and for that the next page will delay a bit.

Ok, so... Right after feeling a "scratch", I looked down and saw a deep gash that exposed my veins and tendon. I was in total shock and started shaking on the spot. My mom rushed me to the hospital, and thankfully, a very competent medical team was already waiting for me when we arrived, since we had called them on the way there.

The doctor said I was extremely lucky—just a few millimeters deeper and the cut could have severed my veins causing severe bleeding or even my tendon, which would have required surgery and could’ve made me lose grip strength in my fingers or the movements itself. In the end, I got five stitches, and now I’ll need to take antibiotics for seven days, a tetanus shot, and rest for about ten days before getting the stitches removed.

Now, a totally random fun fact for the health students and professionals out there: my girlfriend is a med student and my mom is a nursing professor. Because of that, she actually recorded the stitching procedure to show her students (and my girlfriend) how it’s done in real life—since my mom literally gives stitching lessons herself and taught my gf, haha!

So, if you’re a health student or professional, I’ll leave THIS LINK here with the video of the procedure and a picture of the wound before the stitches; you may use that for studying or to show in classes; you have my permission! ^w^

Thank you once again for your understanding and unwavering support. I really love and appreciate you guys! >w<
