Concept Art for Upcoming Rooms

Years ago, the majority of the rooms in Akademi were empty. With each update, I slowly populated those rooms with props, one-by-one. However, two rooms have remained completely empty for over a year now: The "English Classroom" and "Biology Lab." I wasn't really sure what to do with those rooms...until an extremely talented concept artist shared their vision with me.

Here's the plan:

The "English Classroom" is going to become the "Foreign Studies" room. It's going to have a classy look-and-feel, similar to the student council clubroom's aesthetic. It's going to be less of a classroom and more of a miniature museum where Akademi displays various foreign artifacts that students can observe and learn about.

How could this room benefit the player? Several ways:

1. The display cases would contain various weapons such as battle axes that would be fun to kill with.

2. It would be possible to sabotage various aspects of the room to kill students (like making the decorative ceiling piece fall down and kill a student from above).

3. It would be possible to temporarily store corpses inside of the treasure chest and the sarcophagus (or potentially use it as an alternative to the music case for kidnapping students?)

4. It would be possible to kill students by shoving them into the iron maiden and slamming it shut (probably only in highly specific situations; the student was lured over, the student was examining it as part of their routine, or the student was examining it as part of a scripted event).

As for the Biology Lab, it would be highly modern, almost futuristic in nature - a room filled with high-tech equipment and tools that might be of use to the player:

1. The player would be able to store corpses in the freezer.

2. The "grow station" would provide several poisonous plants (that the player can only utilize with enough Biology knowledge).

3. There could be at least one poisonous animal stored here, which could provide the player with lethal poison or a way to kill victims.

4. Another emergency shower, giving the player yet another place to wash off blood aside from the shower building and the chemistry lab.

One of these environments is already being modeled, and I am extremely impressed with the modeler's speed and quality. I'm looking forward to obtaining all of the props necessary for these two rooms to be added to the game, and I hope that you are, too!

That's an interesting thought, but I don't think that you'd go here to obtain study points; you'd unlock abilities here that you could only use if you had used your study points to level up Biology and what not.

It would be really nice if stuff happened during class time in these areas for extra study points or something in a certain category like biology in this case

1. Currently, I have no plans for an "improve the atmosphere at school" feature, since lowered school atmosphere is intended to be a punishment for the player. 2. They're not very relevant to the Yandere Sim story after the court case.

Hi, YandereDev. I have a couple of questions; is it okay to ask? 1. Will there be any future features in the main Story Mode where Ayano can improve the atmosphere at school, similar to what her mother (Ryoba) did when joining the newspaper club? Or is it just a mode exclusive like the Yakuza feature, and Ayano will have to wait for the environment to improve if she kills a rival? 2. What happened to the Student Council members from the 1980’s mode after the events of Ryoba Aishi’s court trial? Is it relevant or not?

Oh, right! I forgot about that. I'm thinking about it now, and I'm not sure about it. Does it really make sense? Should less blood come out of a body because the murderer had more Biology knowledge? I guess that having more Biology knowledge would tell you where to stab a person to guarantee less blood spilling out, but the killing animation wouldn't change and the location of the wound wouldn't change, so does it really make sense? Then again, it's a video game, and in a video game, the player needs to get adequately rewarded for investing their resources. So, if the player chooses to invest study points into the Biology stat, maybe they should get a reward for it, even if that reward isn't 100% logical. Hmm. Well, I guess I can put it into the game...

The Biology skill has always said that it would lessen the amount of blood you spill when attacking someone, will that functionality be added soon in addition to the Biology lab?

That was the concept artist's idea, but I don't necessarily agree with it. Out of all the things in the concept art, one or two of the concept artist's ideas might not be used. Thanks for the encouraging words, though!

Hmm, I haven't put a lot of thought into it. After seeing the sheer number of creative things that the concept artist came up with in the above images, I do feel like it would be possible to come up with more functionality for the school's other rooms, as well. However, since there aren't really many ideas jumping to my mind, I can't really guarantee it. If any fans would like to suggest additional functionality for the game's already-existing rooms, I'd give their suggestions some thought!

"Mortuary table"? Yo, Akademi has access to cadaver bodies, perhaps? Anyways, 10 booty shakes will be performed in honor of this glorious update on your progress. I believe in you! (This might become a semi-daily thing, coming up with encouragement for you. If so, you don't have to respond because I know you read these :D )
