Health Update

Well, its not much of an update but long story short: The doctors didn't find any signs of heart disease, YEY!

BUT WE STILL DON'T KNOW WTF IS WRONG!

Now the long story:
My high blood pressure has been going nuts more frequently than normal, for 3 months. The first month i just thought it was my inactivity so i exercised more... didn't help.

Second month I started having minor chest pains, so i thought it might be my poor diet so i started eating less junk and more fruits and veggies, ugh... but nope. Still the same. (You'd think i should've seen a doctor by then)

But it wasn't till mid August that it was affecting my sleep! Waking up in the middle of the fucking night feeling like somebody just stomped on my chest! So i just thought "mabe it was just a one time thing..." ...for three goddamn nights... i couldn't sleep right...

OK, BODY! YOU WIN! TIME TO SEE THE DAMN ER! Went the the hospital, they did their thing, they did their "good news, bad news" speech.
"I have some good news and some bad. Good news is we didn't find any signs of heart disease, bad news is you will need to follow up with your PCP." I mean GOOD! Its wasn't as serious as i feared, but you don't know wats wrong with me is what you're telling me... great...

Went to the primary care doc, they did their thing, blood pressure was fine (at the time). Though he suspected the medications i was taking was fucking me up, not the exact words, obviously :) and that my anxiety could be affecting my sleep. He suggested i should stop taking them and call my practitioner about the side effects. He ordered a EKG or something that can monitor my heart 24/7 (still waiting on that btw), some blood work (that my insurance wants to have a fit over) and some other sleeping/anxiety pills.

So i stopped taking my meds for a week and took the other sleeping pills. Well, insomnia and chest pains was less frequent, so it solved that problem. Blood pressure is still being a bitch but manageable. Theres still some sleep issues but i don't have the "being stomped out" feeling at night.

So... Yeah im following up with him mid Sept to see what the next step is...

Im probably just getting old...

Comments

Yep, that's what im feeling. It might be as simple as my meds causing the problems.

Had a similar issues, but not as bad as you. They put a three day holter monitor on me and had me journal when events happen. Turns out that it was closely related to the amount of coffee I was drinking. Stopped drinking coffee, problem went away.
