Feb23 sketches

With reference to last week's post, I should have known that the art phase will of course be the most troublesome phase. As such, I decided to overhaul the design of my project, because the user's attention/engagement must be focused just right on the seggs, and everything else about the project must be there to enhance the seggs, not distract from it or devalue it. e.g. seggs must be an end, not a means, otherwise the user's enjoyment would be overridden by another agenda. I don't regret anything I did before though, as I still feel that I learnt a lot, and this kind of thing should be natural for a project.


But anyway, here are some stuff that I drew along the way.

I haven't been entirely happy with Lize's design lately; specifically, her pointy horns communicate the opposite of her supposed soft and slimy body. I thus tweaked her design into a new character, that is hopefully easier to animate (however possible that still is, but goddamn do I want to see some animated slime in my life). She already has a name: Yzuthl. She has the exact same powers as Lize, but with a slightly different personality. Yzuthl is a slime monster from the start (whereas Lize was originally human, then transformed). Her human form is more princess-like instead of cultist-like, and her attitude is more innocent and princess-like too. She will of course continue to have her way with you, because she doesn't know nor care about human sensibilities. Canonically, you can think of Yzuthl as an alternate universe version of Lize, or maybe they are even sisters in a sense, different embodiments of the same deity across different timelines.

Finally, here's an update on a previous drawing. I'm experimenting with a new lighting style, which I think went very well (still needs some tone tweaks). I wish it could be completed, but there are some annoying things I can't figure out about her left hand, and the hair shading.



As a closing note, schoolwork is unfortunately coming down in full force now, and I won't be able to dedicate much attention to art anymore. Certainly not in March, and probably not for a few months after that as well. We'll see about summer break, which starts in June.

That is to say, don't expect any more art updates for a long while. I'll announce this to everyone at some point (probably end of this month).

I certainly notice a definite nuance in the storytelling and the approach towards getting the sex done between each character. I like the stories you bring which includes the sex, which is the part you draw. There's no need for "an overarching story connecting to a mystery or whatever" because that is not you. However, you make quite good stories to accompany the drawings and bring the viewer into knowing and more closely identify and imagine the behavior you didn't have the time to draw. Even though the highlight of the story ends up being the seggs and there's no more "meat" in the story than that. I like how that fleshes out your characters. The victims don't need any story but your characters are much more enjoyable with the stories you make for them. Keep up the awesome work! Hope to see more of what you have to give when you can πŸ™‚

I'm not good at writing deep thoughtful stories, so yeah I will just focus on having my own good time with a story/character based on the seggs. Your explanation is interesting. I didn't think that I expressed that much with my writing, but that is certainly a good effect.πŸ˜…

One of the elements I like the most of your characters during seggs and the story you write in the description is how different they behave between being former human and never human before. I like how the human ones have a more "human" to them in how they interact and have some knowledge on how humans like it while the never human have to do some more exploration to figure out how they can get the semen they so much desire. I think people will come for whatever you show you "sell". If you want to focus just on seggs, go for it! You are great at it and I appreciate that a lot. All in all, I do have a particular idea in mind that avoids all these things I mentioned, and it's a scoped down version of my original idea for the project, in terms of features/freedom. Scoping down means optimizing work allocation to the most important bits, but again, only time will tell if it eventually gets done. And just like what I said at the start, even if I can't complete the project, there will at least be nice things made along the way. You'll see what I mean if I ever get to a prototype phase.

This philosophy includes not having any distractions to the seggs, such as ulterior motives (e.g. to gain +X resources), nor any regret of taking it because it's the suboptimal choice, nor any motivation to rush/skip it because you're in the middle of battle, etc. Thus, the seggs can only come in when there's nothing else to gain/lose or to pay attention to for the moment. At the same time, the audience comes for the seggs, and might get bored if it takes too long to get any.

I now figure that I won't restrain myself based on what characters I made before. Lize/Yzuthl in particular can be treated as iterations of a design process, to be tweaked until my satisfaction. I have a lot of attention to give her because I feel like she might finally be the character that condenses all the features that make me horny into one character (and a couple extra features just for aesthetics / to fill in the gaps).

College is pretty much full time work and whatever time you are not working for it is just to get rid of the exhaustion. You can do it, m8. The hair is indeed tricky. I somewhat know how artists suffer to draw the way they envision, specially after they just got new knowledge. I trust whatever you come up with will be good. When the seggs is not the ends but a means, it's called porn with plot (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PornWithPlot). It's a real thing However, seggs as the end is a valid objective. But I get it. If you start giving plot, users will want to know the plot more. "Shapeshifter" by "LemonFont" is a good example of that.
