Joyce's evasive look and utterance in panel 4 could show either that she really did sit there all night (embarrassing, more likely), or that she was, in fact, asleep next to Joe at some point (embarrassing, less likely). At any rate, panel 1 shows her looking at him, which follows on from her looking at Tristan in the flashback. When Joe sits up in the last panel, Joyce shifts her shoulder posture away from him, but her position still looks very uncomfortable.
