2022-05-09. The Headlands

We went on a bit of a drive to the northern part of Cape Breton.  Amazingly rugged terrain.

2022-05-08. The Beach Just Below The Timeshare

This was taken a couple of days after getting there.  We arrived at 2AM on the seventh because it's a five hour drive from Halifax to Ingonish (My mistake, I know).  The beach is reddish sand in the tidal zone and ball bearing round granite stones up farther.  The row of large stones in the foreground are at the lip of a 2-3 meter drop-off.

Just behind a community church and only a hundred meters from the surf.  Odd how quickly the sound of crashing waves disappears inside a forest.

One of very few restaurants open out-of-season in Cape Breton.  Absolutely great food though!

The beach just below the timeshares we were in was a real mix of terrains.  Some places had these cliffs of what looked like sand and gravel but they were amazingly steep.  Of course, in high season, the walkway would have come all the way down to the beach.

Unexpected Digital Holiday

Metamorphosis Project - Calabar Python

There's going to be a story with this one.  A dystopia in which everyone gets a lump sum at their 20th birthday.  Most invest in training and learning or in businesses.  Some, however, simply blow the money.  On their 25th birthday, they are held to account and those that have wasted society's gift are transformed into zoo exhibits.
