Happy Independence Day to everyone in the US!

Thank you for supporting my artwork. It's much appreciated.

This photo of Isis was made on what is now known as Fort Liberty, in southeastern North Carolina.

Apologies for the image drought -- it's been a crazy past two weeks with some serious life changes (for the better), power outtages (and fried devices -- thank the lord for triple redundant backups).

This week will be double-dipping to make up for lost time. Here's a tease before I collapse into bed.

the real real thing (May featured set sneak peek)

May's featured set, highlighting a studio shoot with Kay Cauldwell, goes live in a couple of hours. Patrons at the $6 tier get 10 full-size previews; $15 patrons get the whole set of 25 images.

Kay is due in town next month -- should I ask her if she's down for a shoot?

April's featured set is now live

'the dawn scape / what night siphoned off' features images made in spaces in and around New York City. Featuring half-a-dozen collaborators, there's a wide variety of work that I'm very proud of. Patrons at the 'full frame' level and above can see the set, containing 55 images.

Vex was incredible to work with -- dripping with sensuality, but a genuine air of both vulnerability and world-weariness.

chop and change (revisted)

This is a re-edit of an image that I released on Reddit about a year ago. I was printing work for an art market and decided I wasn't happy with my original draft.

An urgent family matter is occupying my attention, so posting this week will be slightly delayed.

film scan update

I've spent the better part of the past week trying to get to just this point.

I'm sad to say that my Nikon Coolscan 5000 has bit the dust (I suspect that a capacitor failed on the main PCB and am looking into repair options).

On the bright side, I have finally been able to get my Epson v700 to work, but it's very slow going, having to manually scan each frame, a process ...
