Gwen notices the pieces of signboard off in the distance strewn along the edge of the muddy morass, and after literally putting two and two together in her head, she realizes too little too late that she was smack dab and sinking in quicksand. She'll need to act fast before she winds up a full 10 feet under ;D

Ruby's relentless efforts were in vain as the quicksand consumed her inch by inch. Her cries fell on ears as deafened as hers as her head slipped under the morass, leaving behind a slew of bubbles as the last strands of her cape slowly followed. In the end, not a Remnant of her was left in the world...
