Throwback

Here's just a fun little throwback post, back from when I was trying to grow my hair out.  Alienlife Photography and I took a little road trip up to wine country, and got to photograph in a cute little clothing optional bed and breakfast (everyone was nice about us taking photos as long as they were not in them).

This is a little mini-set from a few weeks back.  While watching a lovely sunrise, we found a neat looking dead tree on the trail.  I'm not a particularly talented tree climber, but I tried my best to look graceful.  I think the photos make it look a bit easier than it actually was, as the dead tree was very smooth, and, consequently, there wasn't a lot of "grip".  But I rea...

Happy end of October!  I'm VERY excited about November, as I have a handful of mini-trips planned, and all of them involve photoshoots!  I'm also excited to get some trips out of Los Angeles...the air has been so, so smokey and difficult for running, leaving me a bit restless and sniffly.

Mini Post

Just a quick hello!  The wildfires are really taking their toll around here, but everyone I know is safe and I just have to patiently deal with the smoke, ash, closed roads, and power outages.  Looking forward to getting out of town in a couple weeks and breathing clean air.  I have some more photos to post from this set soon (and drone video!)...

People always wonder how I wake up so early, especially when I have to get ready in the morning before a shoot (showering, drying my hair, eating, and stretching).  Then we have to drive out while it's still dark in order to capture those early light changes.  But when you see the results in photos, how can I not?  I'm completely in love with shooting in the early morning light. ...

Here's something a little different.  Here are photos from three distinct shoots from one photographer, spanning about six years.  A mix of film and digital photos.  A bit of a throwback for some of these, but it was fun to look through them :)

Studio

Everyone who knows me knows I don't love studio shoots.  But sometimes, in the winter, that's all that you can do...and if I'm on vacation from work, I do like to shoot.  Here are some photos from last year.  I made some of them extra creepy through my blurring, but I thought I'd try it anyways!

Hiking Path

Here are some photos from a mini-shoot with Kevin Mendez earlier this year.  We were short on time and surrounded by people, but we made do with a little spot on a hiking path by the beach.  My hair was looking particularly wild on this day :)

Hello all! 

Here are some photos from earlier this year.  I loooved this greenhouse set up, and would love to shoot in more greenhouses in the future :)  They have that outdoorsy vibe, while having a nice soft light.

Ahhh, I'm currently very overworked already.  But I love this photo set, so here are a few more while I have a moment.  I'm looking forward to some of my already planned trips once this month is over: the sand dunes in October, Las Vegas and the Bay Area in November, and Portland in December.  I'll probably figure out some more trips if I can :)

Backyard Duo

Here are a few more photos from my set with Mz. Kim.  I'm almost done going through these, so I'll have the last set soon.  I also am still working on the other photos I've taken this year to upload, I just tend to be a little disorganized when it comes to my computer.  I've been home sick this weekend, so it has given me some time to give my posts a little extra attention :)

Duo Set A

I'm currently in my busiest work month, so I don't get to shoot much.  But I'm using my Patreon earnings to travel out to the dunes and shoot with Impressionoflight and Googly next month, so thank you all :)  I bought a couple rolls of film so I could do some more shooting as well.

Afternoon Indoors

I'm in full work mode right now!  I'm not going to be able to shoot much this upcoming month, but I still have a lot of photos from the summer to post :)  Here are a few more from my shoot with 2ndlife this past June.  We just finished another shoot last week, so I'm looking forward to seeing how those turned out.

10 Years

If you checked out my previous post from two days ago, you can see the difference 10 years can make.  My hair is certainly longer, but I've also filled out (and I'm much happier with my body these days :) ).  I was amazed that it was almost exactly a decade ago (summer 2009) that we did this shoot in the redwoods and nearby.

Behind the Camera Again

On Wednesday I got to shoot with Mz. Kim and 2ndlifephotography again.  While we waited for our photographer to arrive, I took a few photos of Mz. Kim on the table.  I didn't have my 35mm camera, but I had my digital on hand :)

Sun Room

Snowy Las Vegas

During our spring road trip, we managed to stop in this amazing recreation area just outside of Las Vegas.  From the strip to the trailhead in the mountains is less than an hour.  As someone who prefers to be cold over hot, this was a great find :)

Katja in the Dunes

I'm heading off to Barcelona this weekend...I'm bringing my phone and camera, so maybe I can work on my self-portraits if I find an opportunity! 

In the meantime, here is one of my photography shoots of Katja Gee when I met her in the dunes for a quick shoot.  I used three different types of film, and I really appreciated the variety in textures it gave me.
