Hello all!
I don't know about you guys, but it has been HOT HOT HOT here. Our area doesn't normally get hot like this, especially for so long, and especially with the recent humidity. Consequently, none of the buildings in my area have A/, which has made enduring this heat particularly challenging. Normally, taking self-portraits causes a good sweat session, I thi...

Hello!
Sorry for the delay in working on some photos. My laptop died last month almost as soon as I had moved into my new place, so I had to to get a new one, especially since I'm dependent on one for work for now.
I tried to take some photos by one of my windows this morning. My bedroom probably gets the least amount of natural light, but I put some window...

Hi!
I just wanted to give a quick update. I'm about halfway through setting up my new place, so I probably won't have time to take any self-portraits for another week or so. But I think I do have some lovely natural light to play around with :)
Consequently, I will not be charging (again) for August. So if you are already a patron of mine, you w...

Here are a few more shots from last month.
One spot was a very windy overlook. It had been a sunny day, but then the clouds quickly rolled in and it started to rain on us. But the view was too nice to not try to capture.
The second spot was back in Marin. I had been shooting with googly, but then the clouds started to come in over the water, so Dan an...

Here is a set from a spontaneous return trip to the redwoods from last month.
It was very sunny and we had to do a lot of off-trail venturing to avoid other hikers. Despite the sweaty hike and steep hills, it was nice to run around in the ferns for a bit :)

Here are some more shots from my shoot.
I'm in the middle of packing/moving to a new place, so I've been a bit busy lately. But I was happy to see my film made it through the mail-in process. I hope everyone is safe and well!

Hello!
Here is another set from my recent trip. This was from some lovely, and very cold, pools formed from a river in the mountains. I really liked the drone view for this set, though the drone was being slightly temperamental :)
p.s. I have also paused July billing, so if you are already a patron of mine, you will not be charged for July.

I took some photos of Googly while I was visiting. I just sent the film in, so it will probably be a week or so before I get the film back. But I always snap a few digital photos just in case.

Here is a small set of photos from the same stream that Dan and I took snow photos in last November. It was fun to see how different it looked without all of the snow and ice.
I'm venturing out today to take some photos of my own, and then heading home to get back to work for a bit. I'll slowly work on posting my photos when I'm back :)

It was nice to spend some time in and around the mountains.

Just a couple of outtakes of Svala from Iceland. I haven't felt up to taking self-portraits in the past week or so, but hopefully I will soon.
I have a week off from work next week, so I will be driving up to the Bay. Looking forward to some creative time :)

Hello!
This photo was from a very windy late afternoon in the sand dunes. I always loved this set, but it was absolute misery to shoot in! It looks like a gentle dusting in this photo, but it was WINDY. I had sand EVERYWHERE, and I swear it took forever to get it cleaned up (I was finding sand in my ears for days!). Not to mention poor Alfred was cleaning out...

Hello!
I have the day off from work today, so I thought I'd scan through some of my old self-portraits again. It's interesting to see how I am drawn to different styles at different times of my life.
Darker/heavier shadows.
The lack of butt shots during my skinnier days.
Toned monochrome images.
I think if someone were to di...

Happy weekend!
Here are some self-portraits from this morning. I didn't have as much time as I wanted, but I still liked a few of them. I'm looking forward to some outdoor time next month to add some variety to my locations. The guest room is getting kind of old :)

Here's a little set of portraits I took of Maggie in the dunes at sunrise. The light was really soft and perfect for shooting, which made it fun to play with some subtle color.
I am happy to say that I have found some safe shoots that I can do next month. My job will be wrapping up in three weeks, and then I will be able to take a bit of a break and create. I'm ve...

Here are a few photos from a shoot back when I had short hair. These were taken in January when it was mighty cold, so it was definitely a memorable shoot.
I hope everyone is doing well! Personally, I am kind of flabbergasted that summer is around the corner. I've been trying to find time to work on some new self-portraits, but my roommate has not left the house r...

Here are some photos of an older shoot I did. Hanna was a model visiting from Europe, and her agency had asked if I could do a shoot with her while she was in the states. I was really shocked and surprised that anyone would ask me to shoot photos of them, and subsequently very anxious about getting any decent photos. This is a mix of film scans and digital photos. Overal...

Happy Tuesday!
I was digging through some more old shoots , and found a handful of sets to post. Here's one that I thought was kind of interesting - just a simple set of close ups of different parts of the body. Amazingly, no nudity! But I thought it was neat enough to share.
A lot of photographers photoshop out my various moles, but I appreciate when...

Continuing the theme of photos that didn't quite make the cut, here are a handful of photos from the Mammoth series. I think it's hard to take a bad photo in such gorgeous scenery, but sometimes the lighting or the angle isn't quite right.
Also, as a heads up, I'm probably going to make next month "free" again on my patreon. I will probably continue to post a bit,...

Here are some randoms from shooting in hotels with 2ndlife...I've posted some shots from these shoots before, but here are some "outtakes", or shots that didn't make the cut.
I know shooting in hotels can be cliche, but they usually have some pretty killer windows and soft reflections, so I always have fun shooting in them.

Hi all!
I was going to wait until the first to post, but I was digging through old photos and found some hot springs photos I hadn't posted yet (well, I may have posted one of them, but I couldn't find it). I had to blur my face in one of them, so hopefully that's not too distracting.
I so wish I could be in hot springs right now, but I'm ok being patient. 2020 wi...

Happy Sunday!
This is my last week of my online class, which I've been working on in the evenings after work. Hopefully after this week I'll have a little more time to relax. But I wanted to add another post here before the work week starts up.

Happy Thursday!
Here's another throwback post. This shoot is particularly memorable because there was poison oak EVERYWHERE around the lake. I am particularly sensitive to poison oak because I did an outdoor program in one of the national forests for a few months...that's how I learned you can go from being "immune" to "very sensitive" to poison oak after consistent exposures....

Hello lovely people!
I wanted to alternate between old shoots and my selfie attempts, but I haven't had time this week to look through my old shots this week :( So here are some more self-portraits. This morning had some lovely skies, which caused some nice shadows with the window light. I decided to take advantage.
I hope everyone is doing well...

Here are some more of my self-portrait attempts! I think these were less successful, but I'm trying out different locations in my house when I get an opportunity (trying to find time/space to take naked self-portraits while stuck at home with a roommate is not easy!). I'll be working on some more to post while we're still under the stay-at-home order. Here, we're under the ord...

Hi all!
Here's another throwback. I've been posting updates on a bit of a random schedule, but I'm just trying to take advantage of breaks when I have them.
I posted a couple of images from this set previously (you can check the studio tag). Here's the rest of the set :) I might revisit this concept one day. I can't wait until I can shoot again ...

This is from one of my favorite locations. Dan and I had been set to shoot, but I, unfortunately, got super sick on this trip (I don't often get colds or anything, but when I do, they usually hit me pretty hard)! I still wanted to shoot, but we had to keep it short, so we trekked out to this awesome tree. It was beautiful, but I nicknamed it the poo tree since it seemed to be ...
