Trying a real different style and feel for these now that we're in a new area.

The text would fit in better if I hand-wrote it, but then I'd probably destroy my wrist. I don't suppose anyone really cares, though.

Scrapped coloring book pages

These can't have been scrapped for being either too gross or too stupid, considering the things I finalized and kept in the coloring book. I guess I just ran out of steam before I got around to completing "giant butt skydiving nightmare" and "woman with mutant tongue."

Headless Mystery Arthropoid

Found in my big box of old drawings, this looks like a Mortasheen arthropoid whose head I wound up not liking, several times, until I'd pretty much ruined the paper by erasing over and over. I could have drawn a nice head separately and photoshopped it on, but I guess by that point I just wasn't feeling the design at all.

Seems like it was some sort of glowworm!

Monster concept - Werewolf Tree

This idea was an abstracted way of having a lycanthrope-based Mortasheen monster; weird, shaggy alien-looking faux-canines who inject a mutagenic virus that can turn a host into a giant tree of dog-flesh, from which more of the "wolves" sprout.

I still like the concept and designs, but I'm in no hurry to start drawing this elaborate mess.

patron monster - Earl and Earwin

Aditya requested a married pair of conjoined ear monsters.

Both are very hard of hearing and have to shout at each other constantly. This is unfortunate for anyone in earshot because they also stubbornly disagree on almost every topic.

patron monster - Thelmus

Venvel requested a Thymus character, so here she is! Thelmus is a no-nonsense security chief in charge of a force of trainee T-cells.

patron monster: Butt Pitcher

suggested by Hisham, here is a butt creature that also acts like a nepenthes pitcher!

By coincidence, we will be soon seeing an area of the hospital where this entity might fit in very well....maybe we'll even spot one!

I wanted it to give an impression sort of like a big-brained Martian, but also sort of like a creepy doctor...

What used to be the tick monster, Blood Bloat, has been updated to a chigger monster, which better suited its design to begin with; a chigger really does have a huge, long "tongue" for feeding!

TEXT FILE DOWNLOAD: Mortasheen "Familiars"

Conceived back when Mortasheen was a video game concept, this file was later written for the RPG setting, but I'm not sure it'll actually be using the idea. I still consider it canon, but we didn't have any good gameplay ideas for having to keep track of your familiar or what you would use it for.

You can consider a familiar purely aesthetic dressing for a trainer character.

Skull Nasties

I've had a concept for a while for a series of Mortasheen monsters that are basically tricked-out, floating monster skulls. Just big, weird skulls with all sorts of organic weapons and powers.

They'd basically be like Dungeons and Dragons' Beholders and Beholder-kin, but flying death skulls instead of flying eyeball heads.

Surgery Ward Sketch

The surgical waiting room was almost a simple hexagon, and an overhead view not unlike rooms in the corpse-world. I decided I needed to go the extra mile and make a really dynamic, elaborate scene considering how much we went through to get to this point.

The intake window almost had eyeballs and teeth, but I decided it was much more fun if the window itself was the being's face.
