Before I get too carried away with this I wanted to chuck an update out. It needs a bit of adjusting but I'm trying to design it so it could fit on the appropriate sized base without losing the dynamic forward lurch. It still has to work baseless as well so I'll make sure everything finishes at the same 'ground' level but that's easily sorted.

What kind of monstrosity did you lot pick!
Seeing as there is no need for a t-pose or any kind of symmetry we need to decide what this thing will actually be doing, mainly if it's going to be more vertical or horizontal in it's final pose. I'm drawn to the more horizontal lurching forward look, like it's spotted its next victim and is going in for the kill.

We've got another cryptid type monster this month with the Qalupalik. It's basically a creepy looking arctic mermaid/siren from Inuit folklore that snatches kids if they get to close to the edge of the ice.

I jumped ahead a bit and started posing so I could see what I'm actually working with, it makes it hard to imagine the final result just looking at a lumpy sausage!

Mad a few proportion tweaks on the big fella and tightened up the sculpt, done a full fur pass as well and added in some smaller front tusks. The little guy got some baby tusks and another light pass to flesh out the anatomy a bit more.

Couple of quick pics of where the sculpts are at, I'll most likely make some proportion tweaks to adult when I look at it with fresh eyes in the next session but pretty happy with the overall shape so far and because it came up a lot we'll have a little piglet as well.
Another monthly bonus is already here and this one is the Yeti. I had to go with the famous pose so it could also make for a good Sasquatch with the horns removed (just let me know if you want that variant). I went with a modified approach to my fur technique to try and give it that thick shaggy look with larger and flatter 'strands' and it got a pretty good result!

The regal Rakshasa has made it's way into the collection. I think we captured that high class feeling spoken about in the lore and going with the white tiger look really adds to that as well. The backwards hands even have a certain charm to them after I got my head around it!
