This is a bunch of stuff I've been working on. I got some voice acting back from the guy who'll be voicing the parasaur in the raptor x parasaur animation (so I've attached a bit of that, it's just moans and stuff and some POV seeing the parasaur squirm in pleasure). He also did some of the talky parts which I'll share later which I'm excited to animate soon! His initial line reading of it was ...

Here's the post credits thing so far- still a few things need to be done (some actual animation on the raptor when he looks at the camera, for example) but the fluid sim is done for this. This'll be moving into rendering pretty soon!
Also, the fluid on the camera looks not to good now, but when everything is rendered it'll look much better (when the depth of field blurs it and it has a fa...

I really should have been more frequent with this one! I've been getting a lot of animation done on it while waiting for fluid sims on the bronto/raptor/bigger dino guy post credits animation. Lots of character action, lip sync, some parts are more rough than others but a lot of it is shaping up to be pretty cool I think.
I've attached what the animation is looking like for the most part,...

I think I haven't posted about this since mentioning it awhile ago yet, but I've been working on/off on the alien and bird WS thing. It's fun to do some more traditional character acting, lipsync animation and some cinematography techniques like shot reverse shot, camera dolly-ing, tilting, worm-eye view, etc...
I've been working on the parts leading up to where the fluid sim starts...

Here's the finished bronto double ended toy/AV animation! It's taken awhile and I won't lie, I was worried for awhile about how it'd turn out, but I think it's ended up pretty good.
I've included a version with credits and without. I'm still doing credits, by the way! So if you're a frozen pizza patron, want to be in the special thanks and haven't sent me a message with the name y...

I'm almost completely done with the bronto toy animation, the sound is done, the final renders are done, just need to render the final renders with the color adjustments and touch up the full sound effect tracks, should have that ready later tonight but for now I'm posting a little preview, along with a bit of fluid sim I've been doing for the post credits thing (which won't be in the final ani...

My computer has been crunching away at the renders, they're getting close to being done! There's one thing I think needs to change though, originally the display the bronto looks at was in a position where this made more sense:

But now it looks more like he's looking at the painting! So I'll pro...

So, I've been doing a lot of experimenting with some concepts each in various stages of conceptualization while doing the fluids and rendering for the almost finished bronto animation. I've got a few ideas that I've been feeling good about and I figured this would be kind of a misc post that has stuff that doesn't fit anywhere else.
First of all, the Raptor x Parasaur (Codename RxP for no...

As usual, there were a few hiccups when rendering, for example, the 4skin on the smaller dino wasn't working properly, so I had to re-render the display camera view (which meant re-rendering the final renders that had the wrong display camera renders) It's harder to tell on the display:

But easie...

Did a lot of minor tweaks, decided to go with the bronto's room from previous animations as the environment and added some paintings in the background to fill in some empty space.
Honestly, it was a bit worrying because things weren't looking too good. But after messing with some lighting and adjusting some textures, it started to take shape. Here's some stills, made a few smaller adjustm...

The fluids for this area almost done, the section before the AV part has all the fluids it'll need. Next update, it'll be with all the fluids done, then *finally* it'll be time to do get the finishing touches going (some soft bodies on the smaller dino, an environment obviously, some fixes on the fluids having visible boundaries from the domain)

Here's an early version of the parasaur if you want to check it out. The materials (except for the eyes) are WIP.
Here's a video demonstrating most of the controls (also fixing a few minor problems I ran into, a couple verts weren't connected on the neck and also moved the teeth bones on the right side of the bone layers)

First here's a time lapse of the raptor I don't think I posted! It's a long one, no music and it has a lot of meandering with things like testing cloth, testing some initial rigging stuff, etc, but it's the process from sketching a head to the final body mesh.

A lot of the non-tailhole fluid has been baked! It's been taking awhile because that's just the nature of fluid sims... but it's been coming along nicely. I've been baking this hands-free bit:

I had to first finalize at least the butt softbodies since the fluid sticking a bit to the butt depends ...

My apologies once again, but I've been working on polishing some of the toy's movement, also a bit of the bronto's body as well as adding in stuff like animation on the nuts/junk, toes/feet, more movement on the legs, that sort of thing. The issue was from when I rebaked the bone dynamics on the toy, it messed up a bunch of stuff and caused problems with the fluid (like the toy collapsing on it...

This little project has super charged my mood I'd say, been feeling really productive, inspired... lots of stuff getting done, I've recorded most of it (I think for an hour or two I forgot to record some work on the parasaur)

I felt like modeling a character for something I've been wanting to do, something to get more inspired. It's hard to explain but I've just felt empty since finishing the dragon animation and working with the bronto (and the all the headaches that animating the AV/double ended toy has given me) has left me feeling down.
I made a parasaurolophus because I think they have such a c...

Took longer than expected, but I completely redid a few spots, like I felt as though originally it was just too fast. Just too much movement in some parts. It just felt like some parts didn't have proper weight to it, especially in the beginning (like the gif above).
I think that it's good enough basically (the bronto's hole bones still have weird spots to it, but I think if I just bake i...

I redid a lot of the animation near the end, it was getting too difficult to animate without adding in some extra stuff to the smaller dino's armature. I made a reverse FK spine for him when he's in the hole so it was easier to move the body (instead of the hips being the root bone, the neck is the root so you rotate the neck or spine and the rest goes with it)
I was hoping to have the ch...

This has been a lot more of a challenge than I initially though. The physics on the toy were absolutely unusable for the most part, I think I used it for barely 1% of the animation. So it's manually animated for the most part... which has been very tedious.
I think it's turned out... fine, I've been trying hard to massage it into something that looks good. But the idea of having the knot ...

I recorded some voice stuff, not all of it is in the WIP in the attachments but this is the extent of the lip-sync for this animation! The rest will be spoken, but since the bronto's head is offscreen there's no need to animate the mouth :p
I did some polish on the toy, I originally was like "yeah I'll just use physics and blend between manual and physics animation" but the physics weren'...

Some polish on the beginning part, also I forgot I still need to work on the bronto's face bones so he's still not very expressive yet. I was trying to do some fancy stuff with surface deforming and lattices, but it wasn't quite as reliable as good old fashioned bones. So I'll get to that tomorrow.
Still needs some work over all, but it's starting to come along. The part in that gif is on...

Chipping away at this sequence- I think it's starting to look pretty good! Of course the bronto's hole is really glitchy, but that's something I'll touch up manually soon.
I'm pretty happy with the motion of the smaller dino, hands/toes/balls/pp still more work. A couple people have asked about having some bulging in the tummy, like he's moving around, that I don't know how I'd go about d...

Still getting a feel for this- I think it's coming together, like I'm starting to see the potential. I think I've talked about it before, but pretty much every time I start an animation I'm just really uneasy about whether something will turn out good or not (and I felt that *heavily* with this one) and like... how am I going to do it?
My biggest concern for this bit is the tail going int...

I've blocked out most of this thing- it's still extremely rough though. I'm focusing on getting the timing down (the bronto will have a few lines, which is why around 0:27 the camera looks up at him, like he'll say something about the dino guy getting splashed with a[n]a[l]_juice)
(Also it's important to reiterate that the bronto will be looking at himself from a different camera angle)

Some people were asking about some AV stuff, it's bee awhile and I think it's a good time to do some. I figured it would be a good opportunity to model a new character since it's been awhile for that too. Recycled the pp and the feet from the raptor model as well as the rig so that helped speed things up, but did most of it yesterday, feeling really inspired!

I'm grateful for you all being supportive of my game making, but I'm really sorry for being so distracted by it- that's not what you all are here for and I've been spending way too much time with that. If you've been a patron for awhile, you'll know from time to time I try some game development related things.
