Maintenance

Before the Rodent Adventure Group, those descendants of Avala such as Peppermint, Rooibos and Darjeeling lived under conditions that the more native Thistleland residents did not.

Those of Avala were forbidden by the Adventure Guild to use their own high-level technology and devices, and were forbidden from being accepted into the Adventure Guild as Adventurers or Mages. ...

Cultist Ermission

Sometimes the boss of the dungeon is too high a level and you are to unprepared to take it on. If all else fails, there is no shame in fleeing.

A cultist-corrupted Mall Weasel certainly counts as that.

Fed Fennec Wolf

Fennec Wolves are voracious predators in Thistleland, large vulpine-carnivores that can use a low frequency yipping-bark to vibrate the muscles of victims entirely limp, making an easy meal of a person.

Both sneaky and determined, they can catch prey either by direct conflict, or by being affectionate. Either way, they greatly prefer their prey to be relaxed, even happy as they slip past ...

Marten Massage

When your significant other is much larger then you and has rather sizeable paws and claws, sometimes it's nice to lay back into their lap and let them dig those claws deep into your form to massage all the tension out of you before some enjoyable cuddle time.

Bohea might be someone who enjoys fighting everyone, but sometimes it's nice to surrender to such enjoyable attentions. It seems T...

Timor with Boheas Planta

While Timor seems to get long well enough with Boheas Red Planta, he does not put up with the sneaky plant based creatures attempts to make a meal of him.

Bohea and Timor

Outside the Rodent Adventure Group, Bohea has a relationship with a beech marten called Timor.

While Bohea is an Avalan, descended from the people of Avala, Timor is a Thistleland Native. While not rare, such a relationship is notable as only recently have the two populations begun to mix amicably.

Bohea and Timors relationship itself is not the most typical, even for a mouse-...

Bohea's Bed

While the rest of the Rodent Adventure Group are not too fond of the idea, Bohea has no qualms about sleeping inside her Red Planta pet, happily letting it place her in one of it's side pods, or even letting it consume her traditionally.

After all, what's not to trust about leeching vines working their way deep inside your ears to feed on your awakeness, and inside other places to leech n...

Bohea's Red Planta

Red Plantas are a highly dangerous creature that roams the woodlands of Thistleland. Uncommon beasts, they feed on both the awakeness of victims as well as nutrients gained from their bodies. Hulking creatures, they listen to few people and are generally to be avoided by all those that encounter them.

Which makes the fact that Bohea has been able to raise a Red Planta kit as her loving an...

Chai Patch

Here we have Chai Patch's final outfit and appearance design! A brown Fancy Mouse with Dumbo Ears, Chai is small and helpless, preferring to do her work as a Search and Rescue Adventure Scout with no weapons. Her demeanour is often both rather submissive and seems somewhat unsure of herself whenever talking to a carnivore, be they animal or anthro.

Chai's method of Search and Rescue is as...

Chai Patch Design Update

Chai's design itself has made a small update, with this sketch showing off her larger ears (called Dumbo Ears). This is a trait that Fancy Mice like Chai can sometimes have, and indeed all member of the Patch family have this trait.

Chai Patch: Avala Outfit

A new, updated version of Chai Patch's Avalan maintenance outfit armour. As with all Avala armour, the plates inside are made of high quality Bonewood China, a type of ceramic armour specifically designed to give some form of protection from what the Avalans referred to as The Horrors.

Chai's outfit contains a molle webbing to quickly and easily add storage options, as well as the standar...

Initial Concept: Chai Patch Avala Outfit

Another initial concept piece for Chai, created while both Chai and Avala were still in early development.

As with some (most) Avalans, Chai Patch has an outfit passed down through the family from the days of the Avalans arrival in Thistleland. While technically illegal, many people with such items choose to instead of disposing of the clothing to hold on to them for various reasons such ...

Initial concept: Chai Patch

A few of the Thistleland characters have had mild changes as they are developed, and Chai Patch is one such character. Here you can see her in her usual Adventure Scouting outfit for her initial design.

As a descendant of Avala, Chai would normally be under the same restrictions as any other Avalan. However Chai is a bit of a special case: Her primary field of expertise is search and resc...

Maintenance

Each member of the Rodent Adventure Group has a specialised role to play, both during Adventuring, and during the quieter times.

While being the heavy hitter of the group in combat, Darjeeling has an interest in sewing and clothing, and as such is often found between the action packed moments the group has repairing and improving on the outfits all four members wear. An excellent se...

Looming Dangers: The Meat Crisis

Thistleland is a continent of a diverse population, with predators and prey in civilised townships and settlements living in near perfect harmony.

While certain predatory tensions may exist in the more backwater parts of the continent further away from the influence of The Adventure Guild, in the capital of Guildtown and the four great cities of Thistleland the idea of a carnivore f...

Thistleland People Sizes

Big things come in small packages. In this case, the sizes of the various 'People' in general within Thistleland turned out to be a bit of a nightmare for quite a few reasons.

By now the lore for Thistleland is progression along quite nicely. There are a number of people, a number of creatures/monsters (56 being worked on at last count!), several continents and factions and much mor...

1 v. 1

Taking first watch for the night together while Darjeeling and Rooibos slept, Peppermint and Bohea decided to pass the time with a friendly game of cards. The quest was a lengthy one for the Rodent Adventure Group, but it was only passing through low level threat areas of the woodland, so neither felt any need to actually pay much attention.

While Bohea was always doing her best to learn ...

While not as close to Darjeeling as she is to Bohea, Peppermint is quite at ease w...

Faction Introduction Poll 01

Within and outside Thistleland there are many groups of people, from loosely related groups of Kobolds, Kotimid, Koprime and Gnolls, to established hierarchies of Mages, Adventurers, Clerks and Ghost Lights.

Each Faction will get it's own introduction and overview in time, but which will be the first?

This poll will be a regular event, and will likely become a patron-only feat...

Pawprints in the Sand

Janus sat down facing the sea, leaning back against the dry sand dune that marked the edge of the beach. His sigh was a deep one, not the kind someone makes when they have walked far, or the kind of noise uttered at an impressive sight. It was a long, drawn out exhale from the deepest part of his lungs. Looking upwards to the blue sky, his spoken wondering might have been to the rabbit, or the ...

Rodent Adventure Group Sketch

The Thistledown project is based around (primarily) the actions of the Rodent Adventure Group, also known as the RAG. As descendants of Avala refugees (banned from magic or adventuring as their pe...

The Rodent Adventure Group

The Kotimid were skittish of the approaching adventure group. There were four of them, four! Certainly the draconic hoard were more numerous, but these were adventurers! They had big sticks! The few Kobold steadied their smaller, le...
