Well now there is no reason to fight. We see Prisoner letting the illusion go. There is no further combat - leaving a divide between our two characters and the set up for a future resolution.

They both don't want to back down. Both of them are pretty headstrong. Whisper throws in her hat with the only person who would stand on principle. The only person she would trust in this desperate situation.

Shut up and kill me. - Prisoner was about to repeat himself. Warden wasn't having it.
It's always difficult word-smithing perfect dialogue. I'm not master by any means but its always in a constant state of refinement. I'm pretty happy with where this one turned out all things considered.
War Hounds. The backbone of the Enslaver God's armies. Sometimes I find myself struggling with the real estate available for the text. This was one of them. I might expand on them next time.

Warden is calling him out. It's not only visual, there are emotional waves, and a sense of 'truth' that is inherent in the mind bridge that is conveyed to each other. This is hugely useful, concepts are conveyed wholesale and completely in moments, but it makes it difficult to hide things from each other.

And he is actually trying to devour her sense of self - her ego. To rebuild her from scratch as a 'horny' slut dependent on his protection.
