These little guys are six mixed media traditional pieces! The originals have been individually framed and will be at the Anthrocon art show in a few weeks, but I'll also have them available together as a print like this and on print-on-demand stuff a little later. Here's a sneak peek at how I decided how to draw toony cicadas. Four years ago now! Feels longer for some reason. It's interesting to me that the overall shape I simplified the body to in the upper right hand corner is not so different from the design I settled on for the Insecta Geometrica cicada pin, which was developed at a different time with different goals.
