Sketch Warmups

In between inking some of the previous pictures in hopes to get them painted/coloured I hit a bit of a creative 'block' for the last few days.  For the life of me I couldn't figure out what I wanted to sketch next, so I went with a few warmups and standard 'standby' kinds of pics I like to do.  Namely a general character picture (In this case, a new guy who's name I still don't know) ...

Delvers - Sketch

It gave me a chance to use 'Rudy' again (My model skull) for reference.  Still smiling after all these years.

Shrine of the Eldr Hjarta - Patron Sketch

The patron sketch for April!  This one features Suka (as I understand it, a fox/husky hybrid) passing by the shrine to an Elder Stag along the hunting trail.

I admit, I'm not entirely sure about this one.  But sometimes you just have to call a picture done and move onto the next thing.  I was nearly going to restart this one again for the fifth time when sanity caught up with me and I just ended up finishing it to the best of my ability.

I still can't wait for it to stop snowing every other day here.  Seriously, I'll take a brow...

Well, I guess in this case its not a 'bus' since 'Wroth doesn't have those (yet?).  I'm still trying to fight through the creative blah's and ended up sketching a pic of Cinders and Berrand waiting out the rain on one of their visits to Wyclanfaern.

Jabberwock Epoch

Amidst the din of outright insanity that seems to have gripped common sense I've been a busy bee to say the least.

There's something oddly poetic that bog roll has become the earmark of humanity's panic.  That figurative alien archaeologists will find us clinging to rolls of the stuff, great wads of it in our gullets, and probably just move on to more sensible lost civilizations.

The visit - Flat colour pass

Just a snapshot of the flat colours for the painting this month.  I'm quietly dreading the shadows in this one.  Figuring out the light that would be filtering through grand branches and leaves above is going to be 'interesting' to say the least, but I really did want to get this one painted.

The inks for 'The Visit'.  This will be coloured/painted next, and its a fairly intimidating thing to imagine in colour.  There will have to be a lot of shadowed areas since the massive tree itself will cast them, giving an almost twilight feel to things.  But I like the pair enough to give doing a colour treatment to this a try at least.
