ARC Tech: Buckle Type 2

This is the buckle found on the front chest of the Personal Restraint System, the one that secures the arm loops to the harness.

This one is pretty simple, I didn't add anything like a detent or button because that would make it too bulky.  I don't want two big metal boxes on the chest of my straitjacket anymore!

So yeah.  This one screws together with the same hex tool as...

A.R.C. Tech: The Buckle

Here is the final draft of the design for the ARC buckle, previously described here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19475617/

This is a much more detailed and realistic version with proper dimensions.

This diagram is more abstract, the final version will have rounded off corners and beveled edges. View Post

A.R.C. Tech: the SWIPE Prototype

I mentioned it a few times in my ARC story as a clawlike pistol but never really went int further detail.

Well now, here it is!  The Slow Wave Pulse Inducer device for non-invasive, electromagnetically induced anesthesia (SWPI) casually called Swipe.

Basically, its close range pistol that you place over someones head and pull the trigger, knocking the target unconscious.  ...

A.R.C. Progress 20: Leg Cuff

Finally able to get things done this year, so here's the first update this year:  the A.R.C. Leg Cuff!

This cuff is designed to be worn at all times and work for off-the-ground suspension without as much discomfort as with regular cuffs, if necessary to catch a falling inmate by their feet or simply to restrain leg motion from the center point under the arch of the foot as opposed to...

A.R.C. Progress 19: Collar

Almost the same design  as in  http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19898360/

except I changed the power/data to simple gold-plate contacts, and I added 4 small spikes along the inside which can extend into the neck and deliver electric shocks if the "vibrate" mode isn't enough.  I might change the...

A.R.C. Progress 18: PRS Straitjacket

After weeks of doing cloth simulations and poking around, its finally done!  The full Personal Restraint System with sleeves and all!

The full PRS combo: Harness, leotard and sleeves shown here in 3 different ways: Open T-pose, closed loose and closed tight.  Modeled by Krayne himself, because the wax human models just weren't sexy enough!

Shown here in Wh...

A.R.C. Progress: The rubber straitjacket

Here is the video of my best test simulation for cloth so far.  I'm trying to use Blender's cloth simulator to make all the folds for the straitjacket sleeves, and I think im happy with this for now.

Do you think it looks good?

Click below for an mp4 video of the whole simulation!

the "under" garment to the harness.  The harness is still bonded to the garment, I just shoed them separately here.  The leg cuffs are, of course, not bonded and only attach via the buckles.

This features Nanozipper technology; the briefs can be detached as can their codpeice.
To convert this into a straitjacket, longer sleeves attach to the short sleeves shown here, also...

A.R.C. Technology: The Nanozipper

Here it is, the Nanozipper I've been talking about all this time.  This is a REAL concept that I came up with, based on the principle of large surface area contact increasing friction, and electrostatic repulsion.

Like the Mythbusters episode where they took two phone books and merged them together page by page, making them impossible to pull apart, I am extending this idea to three ...

Personal Restraint System Harness Render 2

A.R.C. Progress: Personal Restraint System Harness

another week of work, and I have come up with this! The new Personal Restraint System (PRS) harness!  The harness will be either white or black, I just made this one blue so that it contrasts better with the white parts or Krayne's skin while still matching his color scheme.

Attached below is the full sized, high framerate mp4 file of this animation

Diaper machine: Female

Well, I ended up not drawing up the mechanical details.  Instead, I re-did this animation with a female model!  And it took longer than you would think, I had to tweak the rotation of each of the arms to match a more... feminine hip

A.R.C. Progress Diaper Machine

I tweaked this a bunch, ironed out all the kinks and here it is! the A.R.C. Personal Waste Collection Device Applicator (Or Diaper-Putter-Onner) prototype!

I will try and post some details and closeups of just the machine later today.

A.R.C. Diaper Machine Progress

I finally have the motions set up for the diaper applicator, and almost finished the machine.  The robot arms connected to the tape dispensers are just simple placeholder meshes, to be replaced by more robotic robot arms.  Full animation is attached below

A.R.C. Progress: New Structure Layout

So, in previous iterations the track with the robot was attached sideways to the wall below each cell, and that may still be canon for the main A.R.C, however, that design is very limiting considering each level could only get one robot and the bot could never leave it. So, for the game, rather than have them going sideways I just made em go normalways and run directly below the hanger track. &...

A.R.C. Hanger Redesign mechanism closeups

The shoulder section is isolated in this view.  The hanger attaches to the connector on a rail similar to a Picatinny or Weaver rail, except this has no recoil grooves and the cross section is a little different.

Each attachment slides onto the rail until it lines up with the screws that are inside the connector (blue.)  Then these screw...

A.R.C. Hanger Redesign... again

It was pointed out that the last design looked kind of flimsy and put a lot of torsional stress on the joints.  I tend to agree.

This new design simplifies everything a lot.  Now, the shoulder hanger and leg restraint are separate units, so the leg one can be left off entirely.

The different parts are in different colors.  The 3-axis connector, along with the conn...

A.R.C. Progress: Padded Cell Exterior

And to fit the new padded cell interior, I had to redesign the exterior as well.  I reomoved the clamps on the left side of the door and decided to make the locking mechanism internal to the door.

I haven't modeled a handle yet, I am going to wait until I get the robot and design a hand or special attachment that works with the handle.

This is just an OpenGL viewport...

A.R.C. Progress: Padded Cell Redesign Extra Colors

Here is the same cell with various shaders I downloaded applied to the walls. First one is my default padding shader, number 2 is rubber, 3 is car paint, 4 is black rubber, and 5 is rough leather.

A.R.C. Progress: Padded Cell Redesign

Well, for technical reasons, I couldn't really use the old padded cell, so using a new modeling approach, I made a modular system of pads that work on a 1m grid and can repeat as much as I want.  This version of the padded cell has sloped walls to act as a sort of pillow, since in a regular cube you don't have anywhere to rest your head unless a pillow is thrown in.  And that is not a...

A.R.C. Progress: The New Hanger

Here is my hanger redesign!  I didn't like the look of the old hanger, it looked way too bulky with the round tube structure and the piston-like extenders, nor did I like the system for moving the struts in-out with that chain driven sprocket and screw system.  It was altogether over-designed, so I did away with all of that and went with a simpler system with flat, perforated arms tha...
