Another month with no content, sorry!

Once again, don't feel bad about cancelling for October.

I have been SUPER BUSY and very little of it has been shareable, like animation/editing work and a color test for a Scholastic book (I hope I get the job!!). Not only that but I've been distracted from working on my own stuff, like Starry Knight or Slipshine, which has been kind of depressing.

Sorry for the lack of updates (but I have nice news haha)

SO the last month has been nuts, in stressful but also GOOD ways. After not seeing a friendly face in almost 2 years, I got to travel to visit 2 different friends (one in California, traveling from Texas) and interacted with like... 8 different people. Madness, I know. It was good for the soul, but I wasn't very productive during.

Animation I did for a trailer (gif)

Since this projects date got pushed back, I figured I'd share the work I did since I busted my butt on it, haha. It's a segment of a minute long trailer I made for an upcoming Iron Circus book, and this segment shows of the 2D hand-drawn animation I did for it.

Happy with how it turned out. And this probably helps explains why I haven't had much comic work to share til just now.

I'm still inking because it makes me feel good. Though I gotta move on to the rest of the pencils in this chapter and some flat work I need to do.

Trying to keep the background inks pretty minimal so most of the detail will be flatted or "painted" in.

I've been having an honestly pretty mad few days and decided to sit down and ink a page early, just because I figured it'd be nice to do for myself, as I love inking the most.

2) I got put on hypertension medication, which gave me a persistent cough that started ruining my ability to focus and sleep

Just a little update post re: Starry Knight and future posts

Like the title says, just a little update: Book is being announced on March 1st! And I've already started work on the script, plus I've been asked to make some promotional material. As soon as I start the pencils/inks/etc, I'm going to post them here are "development posts" and a finished pages now and again - but not more than 1/3rd of the final book.

Announcement cover finished... now, we wait

Finished that announcement cover mock-up! Date for officially announcing still not known (some factors to consider), but I've got this image ready and waiting for it.

I haven't announced this outside of friend circles, but yesterday  I signed the contract for a publishing deal for Spiral Guardian Starry Knight! I'm gonna announce it and publisher's name when I have 100% permission to do so. So technically this is the first not-private place I've shared this news. Looking forward to saying more later. I'm not even sayin nothing on Twitter yet.

So do to some unexpected events I'm gonna be maybe talking about soon, it looks like I MIGHT be shifting gears to work on Starry Knight instead of Home-Bound. We'll see, still talking to people about stuff.

anyway this gave me reason to revisit Chablis/Starry Knight's shoes so I banged out some concept art. I think the last one is the one I like the best so far.

This is something I can't be open about because family follows me on twitter, but I've been having a pretty rough month. I've had plenty of work to do - I've been flatting The Sea in You by Jessi Sheron and doing promo animations for Iron Circus, and working on my pitch pages, along with other busy work. Sorry for pausing, my coloring gig took WAY longer than expected on top of holidays, family drama, and an earl infection. I am now back on my bullshit and getting work done on my pitch sample pages. Frustrated at how long it took me to circle back around to these!

Got approval on colors so I've begun coloring this pitch for the artist/writer. Pretty happy with it so far.

Sorry for being quiet, Thanksgiving was a huge (emotional) distraction, and I got hired as a colorist for a pitch (no details here, cuz its not mine to share), and here are character colors I did for the artist/writer for approval/critiques. Only sharing these privately here because, again, this project isn't mine.

I also have some pencils to clean up for my own pitch I've been working on...
