I imagine this species cracks open crustacean shells with its beak, then uses a long, barbed tongue to scoop out the meat. It also does this to armored humans, and bird’s nests on sea cliffs

This fella keeps evolving! I felt a long tail helped with the overall shapes, and this makes my first arrow-headed tail on a dragon. This will be a real cool Timelapse

The world of codex is big, and overrun with fauna of all kinds. The armor heads are particularly successful, so I’m attempting to make a sheet dedicated to their species and forms across each biome

Frost dragon WIP

This guy is based on old 70s fantasy art of evil wizards. Might be fun to pull unusual sources of inspiration into a design that uses more breath attacks than brute force. This is the “sorcerer” of the north, who breathes not fire but liquid CO^2. Name pending

Additional veilwright studies

I wanted to delve more into the anatomy of my existing dragons, and in particular wanted to show you some anatomy hidden in the main illustration- such as the leathery, flexible back spines, the standing posture, and the fused, plant-grinding dental batteries. I wanna do one with the hullbreaker as well, and any others if the inspo hits me

Ornate Bloodletter

This is a dragon you’ve seen a bit of before, but I’m on the fence with including it in volume 1 of the codex. This breed is a great mount for one lightly armored person, and sports some of the most elaborate coloring of any dragon. These huge feet help it lift and fly off with prey- it’s heavy weight tolerance additionally making it a great choice for Drakoners.
