Here's the painting guide for Ko Dali.
In the world of Infinity Ko Dali is a bit of an enigma. A former human soldier who seemingly defected to the alien enemy after being presumed KIA. To some in the Human Sphere she's a fallen hero and to others she's a traitor to humanity. To the alien Combined Army she's one of their best agents.
I don't know the truth of her motivation...

Hi everyone,
The painting guide for Ko Dali will be up tomorrow.
This took way too long to finish! I encountered so many challenges while painting this mini, from having received it preassembled to having to repaint sections because I just wasn't satisfied with them. But in the end I'm quite happy with the color recipes for this one, so I hope it will have been worth the extra t...

Hey guys,
After two fantasy minis last month I'm feeling the call of sci-fi again!
The first painting guide for this month will be for the Limited Edition Ko-Dali miniature from Infinity the Game. I chose this mini because I want to paint more inhuman skin tones and the textured bodysuit provides an interesting challenge— and is also something I...

Here is the painting guide for Guild Ball's Decimate.
This project was mostly me looking for an excuse to test out some more blue and gold recipes— hence the limited palette.
I'll admit I don't know a ton about this character as I've never actually played Guild Ball (and it's now OOP) but if I remember correctly she's some kind of noblewoman who was last in line to inherit any...

A guide for making quick and simple water bases for your wargaming miniatures.
Bases with water are one of those the aspects of the hobby I've always been fascinated by. There are a bunch of ways to approach it but I've found that the method I use in this guide is the one with the least amount of fuss that still looks great.
Hope you find it useful and if you've got any qu...

The Bayou Badass of Malifaux, Ophelia is more dangerous and and far more cunning than most of her gremlin brethren. Anyone threatening her kin or territory are likely to catch a bullet or six for their troubles.
I don't actually play Malifaux at the moment but, as a fan of gothic horror and westerns, I do enjoy the lore and the character designs quite a bit.
Aside from inhuman skin tones...

Hey everyone,
The Ophelia guide was supposed to be ready by today but I've been unable to finish the final parts (the pig, hair and metal) due to the electricity being out in my area for the last couple of days. If power isn't restored by tomorrow I'm going to try and move some of my setup to a relative's house so that I can finish things there.
Usually guides go up around the mid...

Hey guys, hope you're all doing well and making progress on your hobby projects.
I've started working on a couple of things for this month. The first is a painting guide for Malifaux's Ophelia Lacroix (mini on the right). She's a simple miniature that will be fun to paint— she's even got a tiny pet pig.
The other mini is Guild Ball's Decimate. T...

Another Aleph/O-12 character from Infinity the Game. In universe she's essentially a tv-show character given form as an artificial human. Imagine if the technology existed for Disney to make Captain America real with his personality and combat prowess intact and you'd get the idea.
Where Achilles is a weapon in human form, meant to inspire troops on the frontlines with his superhuman combat...

Hello everyone,
The next painting guide will be for the character Hippolyta from Infinity the Game. This mini was tied with the Black Templars in the last poll so I started work on it immediately after finishing the BT guide.
Since I can't decide which mini to do after, I'll be putting up another poll soon. But before that happens I want to get an idea of what ranges you guys wo...

Aesthetically I've been a fan of the Black Templars since I read the design notes behind the chapter in White Dwarf 311. And would you look at this, nearly two decades later and I finally painted one for my own collection!
Black armor is always a unique challenge and I wanted to try a palette that played well with the reds of the elite Sword Brethren.
Hope you guys enjoy a...

A quick guide for making bases with Textured Plasticard.
This was originally part of the Black Templar guide but since I'll likely be making this type of base for other miniatures in the future I decided to separate it. This way I can just point to this post instead of having to repeat the explanation each time.

Here's the painting guide for Kozmo. I decided to do Yue (the little girl that goes on his shoulder) separately since I didn't want to delay putting something out any longer just to try and cram her into this part of the guide. I'll update this post once I finish her.
As always if you guys have any questions about the painting process drop them in the comments of this post or ask on the...

Looks like Kozmo and Yue will be the next guide!
The voting was incredibly close with Fullmetal Kozmo winning by just a single vote. Since the results were so tight I will definitely be making guides for the other 2 miniatures in the poll as well.
Thanks for taking the time to vote and I'll be back with a painting guide for this armored juggernaut soon.

Here are some options for you to vote on for the next painting guide. I will likely make all of these eventually but this will let me know which ones you want to see sooner. Voting will only be open over the weekend and close on Monday 8:00pm SAST

Hey everyone,
So my grandmother passed away this week and I've been observing funerary customs, supporting my family and trying to deal with my own grief so I have not been at home very often.
I will still be working on guides this month but there's going to be a bit of a delay while I try to juggle things. There will be a post immediately following this one which will be a poll for...

Hey everyone!
I'm busy finishing up the painting guide for this Infinity miniature— Achilles, the Champion of Aleph.
This figure is an important one to me as it was one of the first non-GW miniatures that caught my attention many years ago. Aesthetically it was very different to anything I'd attempted to paint up until that point (mainly High Elves and Space Marines) and I thoug...

This is a fairly common technique in the world of mini painting so instead of writing a comprehensive guide to glazing I just wanted to give some insight on how I personally make use of some different types of glazes. :)

Basic Painting - This will focus on the process of p...
