Thank you guys for your patience while I got this sorted out! New models, new pipeline - it was a clusterfuck.

No gif yet, sorry! Thought I'd share the compositing tree that I cooked up in order to get particle systems to behave in renders. There's not a lot of new tricks here - except the cryptomattes, which are new(ish) to this version of Blender and a real lifesaver. I'm looking forward to using this flow for my upcoming video.
