Old Guy Character Modeling, Early Access and Project Files

Here it is.
The attached files are the one from the video, and the animation.
This one is rigged a little better than the previous character, so it might be fin to play with.
This video will be public on Wed the 20th, and I'm planning for the next one to be public on
May 4th.
My current video schedule is to release a video every Wednesday except for the last of the month, to give...

Character Modeling Livestream

The other day I did a livestream and once again, I'm only making the recording available to Patrons. Just so you know, I didn't finish the character in this one, but I'll model this character in the next public video.
Eventually, I will schedule some in advance, but I'm still getting used to it.
Enjoy!

Gardener Character Modeling Early Access and Project File

I'm finally getting back to character modeling videos!
I plan on having the next 2 also be character modeling before getting back to geonodes and other topics.
So this one has 2 files with it, the one i made in the video and the thumbnail file.
The thumbnail file has the rigged character, but it's pretty messy. I made it quickly and just made it good enough to pose.
If you need your...

Rapid Character Modeling, 5 Base Meshes || Blender 3.1

One of the benefits of me quitting my job is that I can make videos more quickly.
No promises, but if I can keep it up, I'll do early access videos more often.
I'll make this public on Wednesday around noon EDT.
Enjoy!

More Fuzzy Felt Stuff

I worked on this felt / fleece material some more and added some controls to the geometry node modifier to make it easier to control.
It is pretty heavy in the viewport, so there is an option to change the viewport resolution for the particles.
I added a couple color tests too, but I'm still not sure how to get the particles to match the object color or UV.
Anyway, have fun!

March Donation and Life Update

This month has been pretty good when it comes to Gumroad sales and new Patrons (Thanks for that!), so I donated an extra $50 this month.
The first $50 went to the Natural Resources Defense Council as usual, and the other half went to World Centr...

Fleece Material WIP

I'm planning on doing some material studies, where I try to math certain materials as closely as I can. I figured I'd share some of them here for you all to use or check out.

This one is a work-in-progress so I might try to improve it and reupload at some point.
It's also pretty slow on my computer because of all the particles and made for cycles, so it's use it limited.

The fuzz...

Bonus File - Charlie Dance

I got a request to share this file.
It's back from June of 2019 when I had only been using Blender for a few months, and I was just getting started with rigging and character animation.
This was made in version 2.79, but luckily it's all intact, except for the reference video which is linked below.

The original reference video is from a show called "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphi...

Does anyone care about the size of their names in the video credits?

I thought it would be a fun idea to do it this way to show some sort of hierarchy, but I've been considering making them all the same size.
Thoughts?

First Test Stream

In case you missed it, I did my first test stream today.
I decided that I would make the recordings available to Patrons only for now.
Before I go live, I will notify people on Discord.
If it is a larger planned stream, I'll tell people at least a few days before, but for the time being, I am just doing casual streams like this.
Enjoy!

This is my first sponsored video of this size. Hopefully I can keep getting sponsorships that I like, so I can spend less time at work and more time on videos.
I have a barbed wire video already recorded, I just have to edit it, so that should be up soon, along with an updated pro...

I have a few videos planned. The next one should be out in a few days, it's about making bundles of cables like in the post image. I'll release a light version here, and it will also be a product on Gumroad.
After that, I'm doing a geonodes video about scattering points. And if it works out, I'll do another video about making lightning....

Walk Cycle Project File

Here it be!

Upcoming Videos

Here is a quick work in progress shot of a walk cycle video I'm working on (It'll look better than this when it's done).
Let me know what other video topics you'd like to see.
Character animation is one of those areas where I'm still learning a lot, so the complexity of what I can teach is limited by how much I know. I'm always trying to get better though.
