If I go too long without using speed lines I forget how to use them. You have to balance them out-- too many and it looks silly, too few and they impede the action rather than enhance it. I've had several different colors available for sketching but have never really deviated from my standard red, so I took the time to branch out. Also picked up some new gouache paints and tried a Legoshi. The gouache is fun, but I'm out of practice with their behavior.
