I went out in the cool of the morning to take in the beauty of the garden before the day got too hot. I'm still experimenting with my new gimbal apparatus. I think that the walking is much smoother, but the joystick control doesn't seem to want to listen to me. I'll get better at using it with practice.

Finally! I've started an archery inspired painting. I did something a little different this time. I painted a solid background first! I have recently seen some images of Greek frescoes. I thought that the backgrounds were really beautiful, and thought to try it myself!

I spent the day in the studio, enjoying myself with a self portrait. The colors are intense. Bright, warm yellows in the skin, and bright blues and muted greens in the background. It feels like a goodbye to the summer. Not a sad one, though. Just a reflection on it as I gaze over my shoulder.

I put this up just to be silly. I think it looks like a photo from the 1960's or something. I was a little shocked at how cold the river was and didn't know how to react, so I had an odd look on my face. Then with the color filter, I thought that it made it fun and something from a bygone era.
