My first commission opening in some time allowed for some very lovely concepts to be sketched ^^ (Plus a lil SFW character art for a friend of mine!)
The flower transformation is a bit of a collab work - not all of the art there is mine. The client, a fellow artist, worked with me to get the concept nailed down on panel 2. :D

4 years and I've never given Berry a proper ref - so I've rectified this at last!
The biggest thing about her is that she's a shapeshifter, yet while her forms keep a roughly similar colour palette, this is all her choice. That's why the colours differ slightly from form to form, and why her eyes tend to change dramatically. She's an artist of her own body, so she's gotta express herself....

I got full reign over the concept of this piece, with only the direction of "what you feel captures the essence of TF". A little farm magic as the dawn breaks was something that felt appropriate to me... Who doesn't love a little wish fulfillment in the morning?

Had an idea of her skin gradually hardening and becoming chitin, including areas in the middle of the transition, hence the very gradual gradient of one area to the next... I wonder how that would feel.
I bet she would be quite small here, maybe 12" tall. You could pick her up, but she might be embarrassed by that - be gentle!

These past few months I've been getting in the groove of expanding upon the TF Study Journals ($10 tier reward) by taking one image from it and developing it further into its own thing as well. It encourages me to be a little more compositionally aware, and really gets the imagination gears revved up for the journals :D So yes! Here's the concept sketch for that!!
