The doorbell rang most of the day yesterday, as all the printers doing mousy stuff had coordinated to deliver it at the same time. =D
So here we have 200 small A7 stickers, 500 postcards (Dungeons&Dormice and Cosplay), little round stickers to seal the postcard packs with, and new "Do not bend" stickers (conveniently, my old ones were running out)!
As usual, I ...

How's this? XD (It's not uploaded yet). :) I don't know what your Silmarillion looks like, but mine has several book marks (the first few times, in the glossary, at "F".
Additional) text or no text? Like "Accurate book titles" or similar.
I've already put up mugs with the "Noldor" desi...

Hey guys - wow, I'm floored by the success of those t-shirts! I feel so stupid for never opening a print-on-demand shirt shop before now. It's so good to be able to offer different designs, colours, sizes, and cuts - and not having to stock them!
Several people asked for more designs, and I'd love to hear what you'd love to see. The good thing with Teespring is that I can offer m...

So... a lot of you have kept asking about the Noldo shirts coming back, about the Professor shirts coming back, about Good Rodents shirts, and I was in desperate need of an Indy Mouse shirt. My standard answer has always been, I don't have the funds, I can't stock so many shirts, I'd have to stock so many shapes, sizes and colours, people always want the ones that are already sold out, they're ...

"To the world!" And to sanity!
I did decide to go in for the slit-pupil look on Crowley, just because he wasn't Crowley enough without them (the glasses do nothing, lol). I think he looks endearing enough. And weirdly Tennant-like.

As you could tell on Saturday, I wasn't really happy with the postures and likenesses in the "Good Omens" sketch, and I got to it again today. This whole thing just flowed from my pencil within fifteen minutes. Sometimes it pays to leave a piece lying for a while, start from scratch, and get much better results in a third of the time!

Thanks everyone who joined the Jitsi session! We've been very productive again. <3
Here's a sketch for tomorrow's International Self-Portrait Day, and a sketch of Mouziraphale und Mowley, for Monday/Tuesday.

Mice in dresses are so delightfully ridiculous!
Note to self: For my self-portrait as a dormouse, avoid a dress at all costs. Woolly jumper/plaid shirt and jeans. Yup.

If, by chance, you think, "No, THIS is my favourite one now!" every few days, then I can tell you you're not alone.
We really need to have a judging at the end of the competition! It probably won't end on November 1st though - I'll do Self-Portrait Day (1st November), and I have an urgent need to drop Mousiraphale and Mowley on November 3rd. I think the world can use some Good Omens...

I actually got a seat with good lighting at the conference today! I'm totally in love with the little Mousassin. (They always try to land in leaf-stacks. Not in brambles, preferably.)
And what's the line you'll never hear a domouse sing? "The cold never bothered me anyway!"

Hi people,
I've been really busy with school these past two days and haven't drawn as much as I'd hoped I would. I'll probably keep drawing mice into November (and throw in a squirrel or two*), and would like to invite you to a bonus live sketching session this Saturday, to close off Mousetober, at 6 pm CET. I'll make it available to pledge levels €5 and up this time, as a little bonus....

So, sorry for the hiatus, but I enjoyed a few wonderful days with my parents and my daughter - visiting the zoo with two new(ish)born polar bear girls named Anna and Elsa (and falling so madly in love with a Caucasian squirrel that I can't promise I won't put it in a costume), enjoying relatively low coronavirus cases and fewer restrictions than at home, having a tiny little birthday part...

And I deviate from my vow not to do hair...
Fun fact: When I draw, I always make the same face as the character I'm drawing. I'll have sore muscles in my entire face tomorrow!
We'll be visiting my parents for the next few days. I plan to sketch a few characters that I can then colour in fewer batches (like I did with Harry and Nalolemouse).&nb...

"They can take our lives - but they can never take our raspberries!"
I'm slightly wary of posting this on Facebook/Twitter. There has been such a lot of weird stuff going on in the comments on the last dormice - from telling me what these actually were (Redwall, beavers, rats, squirrels, chipmunks, Reepicheep), to clamours on EVERY piece to do ALL the counterparts (Wellingt...

I decided the ink and colour both yesterday's sketches back to back - that was very efficient, as I could use drying times by working on the other mouse instead of surfing on Facebook, haha.
My daughter nearly lost it when she saw Mothwig, by the way. (She makes a point of sidling into my room every night to see what I have on the workbench, and she's a very thankful audience.) ...

This costume is a bloody workout! I already hate it in the inking stage. Though he might well become a strong contender for winning the cosplay contest.
I used the grey-toned paper here instead of the previous tan. Proper grimdark background.
I decided against yellow eyes because he already wasn't quite a cute as he should be. Note: Yes, the...

I faced two problems here: First, Shermouse or Cumbermouse? Cumbermouse has some obvious problems - I can't do the right hair, and no cheekbones, sorry. XD So all that would have been left were coat and scarf, and I need recognisable costumes for these characters, so the original Holmes was the obvious choice. Now THAT has been done as a mouse - I had an absolutely un...

Okay, this is getting way too elaborate for what any same person should do with Inktober, but working on this toned paper ROCKS. I can't wait to do larger projects on this! This is something cool about Inktober - I always end up finding new things to do with new media or techniques.
I'm also starting to get the hang of dormouse expressions. XD

A quick and inky one today!
Did you know that the absolutely delightful old English word for "bat" that Tolkien uses in the Lay of Leithian, "flittermouse", is a total no-brainer for any German, because we still call bats "Fledermaus"? (It's one of the reasons why the name "Batman" was never translated into German in the old comics, though they made rather comical attempts at the li...
