Not a whole lot changed here other than Irwin's speech bubble placement! Also as you can see, I simplify larger pieces of dialogue with little lines for the sake of efficiency, but I put the first few words as a reminder of what part of my script the speech bubble refers to. :3

The alternate version here is an option I offered the commissioner, where the shading is warmer and lighter. I thought he might find it more appealing than the darker, more dramatic shading style that I used for Little Runt in this scene, but nope! He preferred the comic's style. That made me feel good haha.

Sketch 1 -> 2 was an edit to the shuttlecock so that it was facing down, as if it were falling!

Sketch 2 -> 3 was me pushing the pose a little further, with success! :3

Shaded 2 -> 3 was me adding some motion blue to the shuttlecock to help add some depth of field and add some extra motion to the piece.

Shaded 3 -> 4 was adjusting the grip on the handle of the badm...

As you can see here, I played around a bit with what he could be wearing, because I thought a plain black shirt looked a little boring. I tried an overshirt, and even changing the color entirely, but I felt it made him look a bit too young. Eventually I tried modifying his black t-shirt to be a polo instead, and it worked well! Plus my Dad wears polo shirts a lot, haha.
