Title Page for Little Starling revealed!

This was a very daunting illustration I took alot of time to prepare for in my head. I even made a couple of sketches and colour sceme layouts, which I usually don't do and it took me probably 3-4 days to complete.

I intentionally wanted to look like if you only focus on Vince, he looks like holy medieval knight, but if you look upwards at the title you see that it's only a stage and all ...

And probably one of my favourite panels! It took me so long and I somehow beat around the bush because the different lights and colours really scared me, but I think I managed to pull it together real well in the end

Okay, it‘s not that dramatic. I never felt really confident working with colours, and although limiting my palette would help me, it still felt like jumping into the cold water. I wasn’t happy with the colours in the first picture and instead of continuing with doubts, I scrapped the first page and started from new. So happy I did though!

Vince's legs are cut off in page 7 because they're outside the bleed border, aswell as the teacher in page 1 and probably a bunch of other characters in other places.

Next batch of 8 is the first chapter! My inking changed a bit, because I decided to use the brush on a thicker layer, and I feel alot more confident about those lines.

From now on I will upload the pages each on their own!

I forgot to disable the layout layer on the first one (and having to upload the file to my ipad and editing it on proceate would take way too long now), so I took the chance to just show you a bit of the page layout in terms of paneling and spacing. Also the blank spaces on Zazu‘s outfit are because I decided not to outline the fur.

In the process of making another ink illustration, this time of Jasmin, inspired by the opera 'Teufelskäthe' (Devil's Katherine).
I plan on compiling all the ink illustrations into a zine untill the end of November to perhaps make public in time for Christmas
