I had a request for photos of Lily. Ah, back in the days of the international travelling model!
I only got to shoot Lily once, we went to a state forest and shot in three locations, plus Lily insisted we get a few extra shots in on the way back to the car park, but it was getting dark by then. I will post more of these during the month.
Victoria has gone into a 5 day circuit breaker...

Sorry to have been so quiet this week - a combination of work and getting organised for a weekly model shoot. If you are in Melbourne, give me a shout if you'd like to get involved.
I am now working on two shoots I did last weekend - one is Amber Jade who I worked with for the first time. The theme of the shoot was art nudes, and we started with some high contrast, outline only shots. Her...

From a couple of years back, I spent an afternoon shooting Sylph, starting in the flat she was staying in and moving on to some bush land.
I noticed the balcony on the flat had this privacy screen made of slatted wood, and the Sun was at the right angle to produce this light with lined shadows, so we did a set with that light. It was very bright out there, which is why Slyph has her eyes ...

Gemma and I finished off our shoot with these images shot near St Kilda Pier. We were planning to shoot on the breakwater at the end of the pier, and walked all the way to the end of the pier to find it was closed off! So we walked all the way back again.
Rain and storms were predicted, which we were hoping for to enhance the dark mood. But in a strange twist on the weather being against ...

Delving back a few years into the collection, these are from a studio shoot where we shot a variety of concepts - if you all like Kathleen I will post some more, and I am hoping to shoot her again this year.
Technical: Nikon D700, NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VRII lens. Light from a Nikon SB-800 flash mounted off camera, triggered with Pocket Wizards.

After we finished at the studio, Gemma and I headed down to St Kilda to shoot two looks - this red bikini and a sea-witch inspired cosplay (which I will share here later in the week).
I like shooting under the pier, although I have only done it a couple of times - the light is really nice and it makes an interesting backdrop.
I have marked this as NSFW because there are a few implie...

Sorry I've been a bit slow with the posting - first week in a new job, lots of reading to do.
This is Gemma from the same studio shoot as before, wearing a white night dress. Gemma was fabulous to shoot, and so many from this shoot are keepers, so it is taking me ages to get through all the processing. After the studio we went to St Kilda and shot around and under the pier, so plenty more...

Natika is trying to get into lingerie modelling, and so did a set showing off this bra from Eats Lingerie.
Shot with a Nikon D850 and NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8 lens, using natural light. The last two shots with the anti-gravity hair were shot with a Godox MS300 flash in a Godox 120cm umbrella softbox. No, Natika was not hanging upside down, it was well timed shots of her flipping her hair back.

Gemma modelling with her huge pink hooded jacket.
I included some shots that aren't exactly out-takes, more just Gemma being silly.
Nikon D850, 85mm f/1.8 lens, lit with 2 x Godox MS300, one in a 120cm umbrella softbox to camera left, the other in a small rectangular softbox to camera right.

"Stormy Weather" - Melbourne just before the rain came

A recent shoot where Charli went to a public park and got naked. Fortunately there was no one else there - at least, most of the time. We shot a combination of fashion and nude images.

Back at home and back to processing the Karma shoot.
After leaving Geelong we headed to an olive grove, and started the shoot with this sexy black see-through dress. Karma was still warming up at this stage.

Sorry everyone - the last week of work was super hectic, and now I am on the road. So forgive the lack of processing and posting.
However my travel plans have been interrupted by the NSW/Victoria border closure. Not good news for me, but I will be heading home tomorrow and can get back in front of the computer.

I am one of the organisers of Portrait Group at Melbourne Camera Club. The group gets together once a month, partly to learn about studio lighting, working with models and portrait photography, and partly just to socialise.
2020 has been a bad year for us. Just after our March shoot the studio we use closed, and while we have tried to stay in touch with Zoom meetings, they aren't really t...

Yesterday I finally got to do the shoot Karma and I had been planning - delayed for 3 months by Victorian COVID lockdown.
A fun shoot, a hell of a long day, some lovely results. May be a little while before most of the shots can be posted - we are dividing up the more revealing photos so we can both claim they are exclusive to our platform.
I'll post a few teasers later.

This was the last part of my post-lockdown shoot with Aim, and was a bit rushed because my car park was about to close.
We noted the mirror topped table early in the shoot, and spent some time thinking and experimenting to make it work. I like shooting with mirrors, but it is always a challenge.
