Only Fools And Horses - S2 E4 - No Greater Love....

So... what's with the extra dot? I feel like I am owed an explanation. Is it for luck? Or does each dot represent a different nation or something? Maybe there were 4 brothers that invented the ellipsis in England, and each brother got represented by their own dot, and then like many things, one brother got lost in translation as the ellipses began to be adopted by other cultures and languages.....
