Mass Producing Chloroform at Home! (Early access)

Hello everyone, the chloroform vid is now ready to watch!
I hope you like the different style, it's the first time I've had a cameraman for almost the whole video. Let me know what you think

General updates: Bromine vid with Ex&F is coming along smoothly, livestreaming setup is almost complete (I will probably test it first on my second channel or on Twitch), and I'll be releasing...

Making Bromine with Explosions&Fire!

Hey everyone! I just finished recording a new vid with Explosions&Fire about making a very large amount of Bromine. I used most of it to make a Bromine vortex, and compete with Tom to see who can make the best aluminium foil boat last the longest before burning up. The leftover Bromine will also be used in Toms new cubane series. Hope you all enjoy seeing the video when it's released!

Upcoming video: Making Chloroform in bulk.

Hello everyone! I've been making multiple videos at the same time lately, and this one happens to be nearly done!

I'm working on a series where I make things on a large scale. In this case Chloroform! And to show one of its uses at the end of the video, I used it to extract the caffeine out of 1kg of coffee beans. My yield is almost 10x lower than expected for extracting the caffeine, bu...

Spontaneous human combustion short | early access

Hello Everyone! I've set myself on fire in different poses and it seems if I just make the video about testing my lab coats fire-resistance, rather than purposely setting myself on fire as the only goal, then YouTube will be alright with it lol. It's mostly a video for aesthetics and the challenges I found along the way. Just something that looks scary but also really cool in slow mo. I'm uploa...

I made Bromine even scarier | early access

Hey everyone! In my attempts to make bromine without distillation, I tried mixing butane into bromine water to extract the Bromine and it worked! Only problem was, I realized I had just made flammable bromine 😅. So I made this short to demonstrate how it behaves

Spontaneous human combustion teaser

Hey everyone! So I set myself on fire a few times to see what it would look like in slow motion. I really like the blue travelling flames and wanna make a cinematic type of vid from all the slow mo shots. I kinda wanna try different poses or scenarios to see what it looks like. Any thoughts?

I have too much Sodium metal | Early access

Hello Everyone! I'm uploading more frequently now. This was an old video I forgot to edit together filmed back in May I believe. Figured it could be interesting for people to see a bit of behind the scenes of how my chemicals used to all look and how I'm dealing with it now

I heated Sodium metal to 1000°C | Short early access

Hello Everyone! This is a YouTube short of my attempt at making sodium metal with a bit of a crazy method. I've uploaded a full version of the video onto my second channel which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZCHckda5sQ

In the future, I plan to repeat this experiment with potassium car...

Why I'm always afraid of uploading to YouTube | Early Access

Hello everyone! As some of you may know, my videos and a lot of other science youtubers get their videos age-restricted or demonetized on YouTube for simple chemistry experiments. Whether that's by inaccurate assumptions about how dangerous something is, or simply mentioning a known chemical compound blacklisted by YouTube. I figured it would be interesting for me to make a video going into dep...

Turning plastic into smelly acid | Short early access

Hello everyone! I'm going to be posting a lot more frequently now that I have the new lab sorted. I found old clips of me following a paper about turning plastic into benzoic acid and since it didn't quite work out, I decided to make a short out of it. So that's why it might be a bit confusing and fast pace lol

I've been working on moving my lab indoors!

Hey everyone! Thanks for sticking around and helping me out in this time I'm not uploading as frequently. I'm working hard to create a schedule around making videos, but first had to escape the Australian heat from my shed and move everything inside. One other interesting advantage of this though, is that I should be able to livestream on YouTube with this setup.

Chemistry can get a bit ...

Making an AI sidekick for science experiments!

Hello everyone! Last night I thought it would be really cool to have an AI sidekick by my side in my videos or possibly eventually livestreams? I've been doing some testing and I've got it working. I now just have to make my own character that suits the bot and my channel more, give it some chaotic instructions or bad advice, and it should be good! lol

What do people think of this idea? I...

Making transparent chicken | Early access short

I recently read a paper published in the journal science, from researchers at Stanford university that made a rat turn transparent by simply rubbing Tartrazine on it's stomach. I thought this was too good to be true, as people surely would have come across this by accident with how common the dye is. So I bought some and tested it myself lol.

I think rat skin is just too different for it ...

Making Bromine without distillation? Patreon exclusive

Hello everyone! I've been working hard to make a procedure for making bromine that doesn't require distillation. My goal is to make 1L of Bromine all in one go in bulk, but it seems a bit more difficult than I first thought, and almost had Bromine explode all over me. Luckily it only got on my gloves.

Making Sodium metal with alternative methods?

Hello everyone! I recently came across a video Elias Experiments recently uploaded, where he made bulk potassium metal in his backyard. I highly recommend checking it out: https://youtu.be/FPjpXiZ1rSY?si=HbpXxfyZNOmTW5Zx

It got me thinking that there must be an even cheaper way to do this reaction wit...

I explored a toxic mine! | Early access short

So while I didn't find any asbestos, I decided the visuals and feeling of the mine was worth it to make a short out of. In the future I might make a longer video about it too.

Also, I'm still working on all the old projects I've mentioned in the past! Except the clear glass sodium cell, instead I'm looking for easier ways to make alkali metals and having some successes that I'll share ver...

We going underground for these experiments!

Hello Everyone! So I recently went underground in an abandoned Adit, looking for natural asbestos to do experiments with (Hence the suit and mask).
We only found salt crystals, but it still looks really cool and freaky how it comes out of the walls. Would any of you be interested in seeing some of these crystals being turned into something like sulfuric acid? I think it's more interesting t...

I found Uranium in a forest! | Early access Short

I recently got back from my trip in Germany, and while there we hunted for some Uranium! Pretty crazy how it's just lying on the ground like that, but it's not harmful for short periods of time to be around it.

I couldn't bring any back with me on the plane, so I might be exploring an Australian Uranium mine soon enough to see if I can do anything interesting at home with Uranium ore ðŸ’...

Burning Titanium tests!

I recorded a few tests where I try to find ways to burn titanium in oxygen. This is mostly raw footage instead of being over-edited, because I think it conveys what it's like in the moment more.

I find it makes more sense to have patreon exclusive videos to be more relaxed and less pandering to the ADHD YouTube algorithm. Let me know what you all prefer.

I also just got back from h...

The weird way Gasoline puts out metal fires | Early access!

Hello everyone! I just finished making the burning magnesium + Gasoline video. This one was more fun and silly to make, and I got some pretty cool shots out of it too! In the future I might try again with different variables, or a different burning metal (Titanium? lol). But anyway, this one has been interesting to put together and I hope you all like it! I still have to make a thumbnail before...

I'm meeting very cool Youtubers soon!

Hello everyone! I have a holiday trip upcoming, and I'm going to meet a few science youtubers to film an experiment with! I'm going to be meeting Nilered, so I bet it's gonna feel strange meeting someone that I used to make Deepfakes of lol.

I don't think I can share many details until after, but we'll try our hardest not to devise a plan to create Nukes I swear!

Making Bromine for a Dangerous Vortex | Teaser

I recently bought over 4kg Sodium bromide to make about 1L of elemental Bromine. I'm planning to fill a large container of the liquid, and spin it around into a vortex. Will an aluminium boat survive? lol

The video is mostly going to be an aesthetic type video, so I've made these interesting time lapses of me making my first batch of Bromine. I have to do this method 20 times to get 1L ð...

Following a NileRed Tutorial in my Car | Early Access

Gasoline vs Burning Magnesium (Teaser + bts)

While the Chemistry in car video is being edited and should be out this month, I've started filming the next video! This is a teaser of some of the clips I filmed for it today.

So far the focus is on Gasoline sometimes being able to put out a metal fire because it steals away the oxygen from surrounding air and forms a carbon soot barrier on the metal surface after it's done burning. I'll...

And here's a somewhat poorly recorded test of burning Titanium for an upcoming video, where I will make a lot of metal fires and try to put them out in the most ridiculous ways: 2024-05-19 12:13:44 +0000 UTC View Post
