i won't claim to be a huge 40K expert, but I've been enjoying Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader a lot these past few days, and Space Marine 2 looks pretty darn neat, and today I was sat working on Raphael when suddenly I was drawing the aquila on teeny tiny boxers. just a lil sketch I wanted to share with you
Changed the wings a fair bit. I try to not change composition too much after the foundation stage because I nearly always end up regretting it, but this one felt right. a bit more exciting, a bit more flowy. we shall see if I come to regret it or not.
slowly but surely making progress on this guy! going even slower as I managed to get ill, but that's life sometimes. hopefull...
went from one arm down to zero, poor sod. rest assured, he'll get them back. we got some colors now! always fun to see it suddenly pop into life once that's in place.
but I'm not going to lie, this is giving me a lot of trouble ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) very on brand for him tbf. ill keep chipping away at it and keep you updated 🫡
Thank you so much for all your suggestions, they give me such an inspiration boost!
I noticed that the last time I posted the results of a suggestion post, some of y'all wished you had known a character had been highly suggested so that you could've added your voice to it. Here's your chance!
You're looking at the top ten suggested characters in August. Vote for the one you'd li...
As expected, everyone got it right. It's Raphael time! Recreating the lasso technique I used with Halsin, trying to build up the form and composition at this stage. Yet to figure out what I'm going to do with his other hand, but I imagine it'll just be something relaxed. Onwards!
It's been longer than usual since my last post. Sorry about that, I accidentally went into hyperfocus on the book I've been secretly working on. If you've been here for a long time, you might remember I wrote a tutorial called Commissions 101, where I shared my knowledge on how to paint for others in exchange for money. It received some stellar reviews such as “changed my life”, ...
The only thing Baldur's Gate 3 is missing is a ballroom quest. Just a chill sketch that I'm not planning on taking any further. Just for funsies, ya know.
The process video is a success! only lost a couple a couple of hours, which is a win in my book. also had to cut out any parts where I worked on the hog, of course. I can't promise it'll stay up forever as it's rather risque even with the censor. I'm honestly surprised it wasn't flagged immediately.
so please join me as we frolick through the magical d...

At long last. The hog on full display. You're m...
His hand will rest on his hip in the final version, but for now we can imagine he's holding a bouquet of wildflowers behind his back. just for us. what a romantic fella
anyway, starting to shape up now, eh?? still a fair amount left to do, but we can start to imagine how the finished painting will look. clawing our way out of the ugly stage, brushstroke by brushstroke.
you may have noticed I slapped a censor on top of the jewels as I'm HOPING to upload the process to youtube and I suddenly realised they don't take kindly to dangly bits. rest assured the final piece will have the whole hog on display
The great thing about being an artist is that I can work from home and I never have to interact with the outside world. This also means that I never have any clue what day of the week it is. Such mortal notions hold no sway over me anymore. Which also means that when I do notice the passage of time, it always surprises me just how friggin fast it's going, what do you mean it's already ...
starting to look juicy. and Halsin resembling!still very rough and it's giving a bit too feminine vibes, the proportions aren't quite there, but I reckon it's time for me to start adding some colors. I've got the base form and values down, and I don't want to polish it too much in greyscale as I find a lot of character comes from building d...
Well, every single one of you guessed right. Of course it's Halsin <3 although you wouldn't be able to tell from this update, granted. It'll look like him soon, promise.
If you've been here a while you might've noticed that I always post rough sketch > cleaned up sketch > flat colors > rough lightsource > render WIP... but not this time. I'm trying a ...

give me suggestions for flirty Astarion lines I can put with this when it's finished!! i can't stop imagining the “menstruating all by yourself darling?” meme line and its killing me
literally cannot think of any other quote. please help
Less wine mom, more come hither. It's not often these days that I need to transform the sketch as much as this, but this time it was just not right, and I had to spend a few extra days just making sure I have a good foundation. Thank God for the liquify tool. I erased his face and completely redid it, which was definitely a good decision.
I've also decided to have a relatively monochroma...
Ahh, that's better. Actually looks humanoid now. Still a very rough sketch of course, looking rather baby faced, but we're getting there. Also, it's impossible to paint astarion without a glass of red wine/blood. Half envisioning him just sitting there dishing hot goss like all the other wine moms
what you may not know about me is that I love numbers. not in a 2+2=4 way, but nothing hits the spot like a great spreadsheet. charts? love em. calculating and optimizing things? yes mama. there's a reason I'm banned from playing Factorio.
