-every fold is essentially a pipe/cylinder
-all folds interact because they're a part of the same fabric
-all folds are created from excess fabric bunching around points of tension

A few drawing studies and a couple tips:
-never space your folds evenly
-always vary fold sizes
-folds are basically tapering and curving cylinders, and they cast shadows!

The big takeaway from these is the way the index finger tends to stand out and raise above the other fingers while gripping, and also the way the gripping fingers conform to the curve/form of whatever they're gripping - in this case a thick rope.
Also, the knuckles are curved and asymmetrical, and the hand will look very stiff if they're not drawn that way.

I wanna use this to stress the importance of using your lights for creating focal points and changing the reference to have a stronger focal point read.
