When I sat down and start laying out this page I thought it was busy. Once I actually started sketching, I realized this page was massively jam packed. Fitting all this into a single page required a crowbar and a tub of industrial strength lubricant.

This one was an interesting premise, which required some prep work before starting.

The premise is, essentially, Webmistress captures Ms Wholesome and uses her as a guinea pig/ crash test dummy for her new Samurai Android. It's designed to be the ultimate nemesis of SoBelle, so they use Ms. W as a stand-in for training/ target practice.

A recent Pin-Up required the redesign of one of my classic characters, Web Mistress. Since her 1st appearance in the "Charity Case" comic, she has long sported a stylized ball gown. Warming up after 17 days unable to draw. Going that long without drawing can be murder. But sometimes results in pleasant surprises.

Toying with a looser, toonish art style, simple and stylized. 

Imagine Southern Belle in this style. Or Pink Patriot.

Maybe use this for certain pieces that call for a bit more playful, comedic style.

Update: Hallelujah! (sort of)

June 17th our A/C died.

It took over 2 weeks, half a dozen visits by 7-8 separate technicians from the same company (each with a different diagnosis) for them to tell us our A/C unit is obsolete and a "it's a wonder it's lasted this long" (direct quote).
Not having $2500 lying around to buy a new one, we ended up buying several portable room units, looks like a large suitcase that cools...

Back to the lab, for some monstrous transformation. I always enjoy these sequences, because it makes you focus on the small details to show change, not just large growth. Also the eternal quest for the perfect pose/ angle.
