Done finally cleared out my commission queue. Awesome! And I'm really quite pleased with the end results. Thought ya'll like to see how it ended up. I'm really digging this coloring technique, as I've mentioned before. Makes it really easy for me to infuse mood into the pieces, which is super awesome. Gonna keep with it.

Fun fact! I hate the color yellow. I find it to usually be incredibly obnoxious as a color, and way over used when it is. So, of course I challenge myself to try to use it well. I think I've managed. Also, this was some awesome coloring practice.

Playing around with some new coloring techniques, and seeing what's what. I gotta say, I'm really liking this. I'm so used to starting with my darkest color and building to highlights, that when I start with kind of a mid tone and build both up and down (as I've done with Morrigan here) my head goes "no those base colors are way too light!" Recently I found myself feeling like my art was very good, but stiff. So, over the holidays I figured I'd throw out important things like proportion and detail. So, yeah, chibi. Something about stripping a style down to the very basics. It's been a fun experiment. Might keep doing these from time to time.

I was commissioned to do a tribute piece to a friend's grandfather who passed away. He was an USAF pilot, who flew F-15s. I never met the man, but by all accounts he was a hell of a guy.
