[v0.18.1] Bug fixes (PC)

Comments

Thank you for your suggestions, I'll bear them in mind. Some things, like expansions for the mansion, are already planned and will be added in the future. Regarding the body changes, it is hardly possible to expand that due to the character requiring an image for each possible combination of clothes and weight already. However, I'm already considering changing some things in the sprite system of the main character to gain more flexibility and adding more possible changes.

Couple of suggestion for future updates. granted I'm not sure if I finished the game or not so take them for what you will. Models: Obviously more stages will always be nice. There needs to be more notable changes in the face and neck area when about halfway through and onward. it's there, but it's not really prominent unless you're looking for it. Trust me when someone balloons, it's really notable in the face. It'd also be cool to be able to customize the character in terms of clothing, makeup or even jewelry. There is a lot of Fat girl tropes you could play with (the Big Goth Girl, The Circus Fat Lady, The Big Mamma, The Big Fat Chick etc.) Gameplay: The mansion is OPed and I love it. I wish there was more to it though. I get its sort of a reward to make of the game easier, but It'd be cool if you could romance the rich guy or maybe there was more to it. (Maybe the guy is a vampire that is a chubby chaser or something and he gives you the opportunity to become his vampire thrall or wife. The college needs more to do. I get it that college works different in the game, but so far, I've only seen two scenes where it really plays a part in anything. You need something an ability to graduate depending on how many quizzes you pass and maybe depending on how far you advance your education it'd open up new jobs down the road. it'd also be kind of cool if maybe you can alter your body based on your actions. For example, you can make your character look like a big strong woman if you have it constantly doing strength related exercises. Maybe if you're really athletic, it can open up certain quest, career opportunities, and even clothing options. example (Powerlifter, Pro wrestler, Sumo wrestler, football player etc.) Like I said, take this for what you will. I'm really bad at suggesting feature creep. Honestly, I'm really enjoying the game so far. I know it's primarily focused on weight gain, but it's got the potential to be a really good life simulator game. Nice job. I'll support it for as long as I can.

Oh, I see, I've changed the wrong dimensions while rendering :,) I didn't play the game until I had all sprites displayed, I just checked the images on any rendering errors in the folder. I'll adjust that for the next version :)

On my game the police woman for the initial and 3rd stage are oversized (so you can only see her mid torso and legs. Stage 2 appears fine. There's adifference in image size (the first and third stage are 1080x1620 and the 2nd stage is 720x1080) Hope this helps :)

I can see use of: $ jane.romance = 1 in the first event. Which probably should be $ player.rm.relationship("jane")

Luc

I don't believe it's possible in this version to get the 3 relationship points required to become Jane's girlfriend. I can only find two instances of `$ player.rm.relationship("jane")` outside of the option to skip to the new content at game start. The line `$ renpy.notify("-$[price]: Taco order")` displays "$[price]", rather than the value of $price.

I will look into the issues reported. I would have never found out about some of these issues, if you haven't reported them. Regarding the time I thought I had solved it in the last bug fix, but as it seems I haven't. Regarding the quiz there will be about 200 quiz questions added for the next version. The current questions are just placeholders to demonstrate the functionality.

SirMister

Yes, that's an annoying issue. I thought I had it resolved with the bug fixed version, but it doesn't seem so.

SirMister

Noted, will fix this with the next update. Thanks for the report, it's hard to find all the issues on my own.

SirMister

1. The gingerbread is a one-off for now. You will meet the witch again in a later update though. Multiple stories will merge at a later point. 2. There is just the party for now to unlock the manor. At a later point the cellar door will be implemented. 3. It has something to do with Trevor's cellar door, which hasn't been developed yet.

SirMister

During the work options - "annoyed by work" and "bored by work" there is the option to go to the lunchroom. The main character appears to have a choice to either ask Samantha if she wants something or Don't ask her. This choice appears but not is active and differentiated. The program code defaults to a assumption of Samantha wanting something.

I am new to the game and want to say at the outset that I enjoy immensely what has been done so far. I do have a few questions to help my understanding of certain in game factors. 1. Is the gingerbread house event a "one-off" or can it be replicated? 2. Is the point of the Trevor's party to get you to the mansion, or is there something I have yet to discover? 3. The cellar doors in the office were always locked. Is there a way to unlock them or is this a yet to be developed feature?

Following on from the commentary for post kidnapping. I have lost the option to go to the fast food restaurant with Samantha from the office as well as the clock. Losing the clock is a minor annoyance as I can calculate the time from preparing for bed but not actually sleeping.

I've got a big dump of minor criticisms here, but it's just because I love the foundation you've laid here and want to see how it will improve over time. KIDNAPPING: Being kidnapped seems to permanently blank out the clock reading, even after you escape. Also, it's very easy to blimp up straight from minimum weight to maximum just by spamming the biggest kidnapping meal without sleeping or playing games, which somewhat cheapens the major objective of the whole game. The Puzzle and Thinking games are far less braindead than the Quiz in its current form, and yet the Quiz pays out four times as much as Thinking or Simple Puzzle. This makes only playing the Quiz and purchasing game resets the fastest way of escaping, which is pretty dull. HOSPITAL: Reading hospital.rpy, it looks like the simple examination doesn't do anything at all to player health. It calculates `regenerated`, but never applies it. Going for a checkup when your health is over the treatment threshold should probably just leave your health unchanged, rather than reducing it to the threshold. When the nurse comments on your weight gain/loss, the game checks player.weight instead of float(weight), as well as using IF instead of ELIF in the middle cases. This causes her to call you obese, overweight, healthy, AND underweight in one visit, every time.
