March Developer Update
Added 2025-04-07 03:58:14 +0000 UTCHey everyone its been a while since i had actual time to sit down and write an update but we've been working on so many things lately that its been quite hectic.
Before we go in here's a brief overview of what we've been working on over the last month.
- Internal Art Mod
- New Assets
- Ladder
- Campaign
Art Mod
The art mod has been receiving updates in order to reduce the upload size as well as allow to organize all of the SC: Evo Assets in a single place, but that's not all as we're adding several new assets from an old unreleased project i had stashed away.





These two Tilesets and their assets will be made available for our Melee Mapmakers and will be featured in some of our upcoming SC: Evo Maps.
New Models
Everyone of our artists has been working hard over the last few months cranking out models as fast as we can manage, for this update though i'd like to recap the models that the team has been working on.


The Defiler in particular has been difficult to rig and animate but i'll continue to work on it sometime soon tm
The Evolution Chamber has been started some time ago and it's being rigged and animated by me, once that is complete we can start revising the colors and textures in order to make it fit in wit the rest of our assets.

The new Pylon model by AltJunior and a crystal textured by Robert has been mostly finished and is on the queue to receive Death Animations, Placement and WarpIn models.
Another upcoming model by AltJunior is currently being textured by him and once its complete we'll do the finishing touches to fit in with the rest of the Protoss Models made by Alt.
The Gateway is another model that we're really excited to add sometime soon to the roster, Modelled by Robert and scheduled to receive textures once the artists on the team complete their current tasks.

We also have a new model for an upcoming portrait for the Zealot.
A new artist and a huge sponsor of the project has joined the team: Leaf_It and one of his first models is being textured: The Academy.
Initially when i started the SC: Evo Project i intended to update the visuals of the SC1 races to feel like they were modern versions of the SC1 buildings, that quickly changed and the Academy model i commissioned over three years ago no longer fit in with the SC: Evo artstyle.

This one and several other building models were finished by Leaf_It but we'll have more to show at a later date.
Ladder
The Ladder has been receiving some work lately mostly in getting the MMR tracking working in a basic state so we can start testing the ranked features and data tracking.
As soon as the update is completed we'll have a new blogpost and a Patreon Post to go along with it.
On another note i've started to work on the Collections Tab for SC: Evo, this is an upgrade from our current skin selection and is almost exclusive to the Ladder Map/Mod.
As part of the upcoming Ladder release we'll be adding some new skins to this new Collections tab starting with some of these.

The specifics of this system will be announced at a later date.
Campaign
The first three maps of the campaign have been all updated and QA'd with only some minor adjustments to the balance of the maps left to take care of.

All of the previously released maps during the Demo have received updates to the props and terraining by adding new ground textures and doodads.
I've also attached some videos of some of the work done on the Campaign.
The stream of Campaign teasers will dwindle down as we'd like for our players to remain unspoiled on the new additions to the Campaign but we'll show as much as possible for our Patreons.
