Ashley's nerdy density joke that Burnie straight up ignored was hilarious.

2024-08-15 15:00:55 +0000 UTCWe need a distinction between animation that's stylistic and animation that's intended to be photo realistic and in a world portraying itself to be Earth. But I don't know which side should be considered the "other," seeing as the first animations were both stylistic and attempted realism just due to the limits of technology. But then there are countless examples that blend the two without even trying to label themselves as "animated", like the Marvel movies. Thanos is animated and has an animated crew, but is set against real actors in a realistic world.

2024-08-13 19:18:05 +0000 UTCConcerning what to name Lion King’s animation style, how about a portmanteau of uncanny and animated? “Uncanimated” or “uncannimated,” but I’m leaning to the latter

2024-08-13 00:00:45 +0000 UTCI feel for the Aussie breaker, was her routine Olympic standard, no, but it’s not like she was there to take the piss and ruin it for everyone. She has a doctorate in cultural studies focused on the sport, so it clearly means a lot to her and it wasn’t just about trying to qualify for a giggle.

2024-08-12 14:25:04 +0000 UTCWith the Olympics Bronze, it's important to note that the Romanian committee who submitted the appeal recommended that the Bronze be awarded to all 3 athletes affected by the score change (the US gymnast originally came 5th) but the court of arbitration decided to revert the scores entirely and solely award it to the Romanian athlete (who was originally escorted away from the podium in tears)
